CAN ANY MUSLIM COUNTRY MATCH THESE FIGURES?

The difference in Australia (and NSW, in particular) is domestic violence legislation and mandatory procedures for police to follow when they respond to domestic call-outs.

Try reporting domestic violence to the cops in India, Pakistan or Cambodia.

They'll lock you up for having the audacity to waste their time.

the big mistake you make is talking about the "Muslim world", I have no issue that what you state does apply to some Muslim countries however, it does not apply in my opinion to the majority of Muslim countries. Therfore we should recognise this as a cultural issue rather than a religious one. Thats the point Im making really. We have a murder of 1 woman a week in Australia plus all the other enormous amounts of domestic violence. Does that mean that this is a religious issue rather than a cultural one?

so-called "Honour Killings" are disgusting but not as commonplace as you seem to believe. They also occur in numerous non-Muslim societies such as India, China and Japan. They still occur in Christian countries such as Spain, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and Rumania. Grin
