What is the plan? Does anybody know?

Will the great powers that be eradicate Ebola or will they allow it to spread unheeded?

Watch and see.................

The U.S. experience should be a lesson to any Country thinking of taking on Ebola.

Huge failures re containment of the virus have occurred in the U.S. The latest is a woman who collapsed on a bus. She had recently been to Africa.

Not nearly enough is known about Ebola but one thing is certain this virus has the ability to spread like crazy.

How do you contain a virus, when citizens have passed muster after returning from Africa and later fallen down with it after they have had contact with who knows how many people.

I expect more reports of citizens going down with Ebola in the U.S. This is starting to pick up speed there despite their so called 'best efforts' to contain it.

Abbott has done one right thing, he has taken pause before sending aid to Africa, albeit he has pledged 18 million dlrs towards the effort.

Much, much more needs to be learned about Ebola before we go making any grand gestures.

Quarantine is a MUST for anyone coming to Australia from Africa plus the planes must be de loused every turn around if they have landed on African soil.

If we get it wrong and we only have one chance then this Country will be in for the high jump. There'll be no problem getting a house in Sydney because people will be dropping like flies.

the worst thing we can do is PANIC...

AFRICA is one BIG continent...do they know where this thing starts how it begins...everything has a beginning they have had outbreaks before now.. why is this outbreak  different??...why why why...

lots of questions...when AIDS was at its height.. people were not wearing space suits.to contain it..

why is this one so different...????

it is a killer thats for sure...but where did it come from??.. and I dont mean country..I mean it bred somewhere.....diseases follow on from normal activities like earthquakes and even wars...where everything in life changes...AIDS was born out of lifestyle and ignorance about blood transference..

whats the difference with this?

its almost medievil.biblical if you like..pestilence..sent to try us...its obvious what we have [antibiotics]this devil isnt afraid of..

It's called responsibility and I find the silence from the airlines themselves deafening.

It's false economy to wait until it's too late, surely, so even all economic arguments telling us there is nothing to see here seem illogical.

I would be wondering why investors aren't making themselves heard, for instance, or do they actually have no 'pull'... does social license mean nothing??????????????

This one is different because you only need a small viral load and sickness happens very quickly meaning the hospitals are hopelessly overcrowded and the basic precautions against spreading infection cannot be maintained to the point most are treated at home as there are no hospitals beds available.

Apparently we touch our faces involuntarily a minimum of 16 times an hour so if you touch your eyes, nose or mouth with a small amount of ebola viral load you are in for it.... education is key of course but how can any of us really blame a society so poor on not being able to keep up to date with the right and wrong way to handle this- it is simply just very unfortunate circumstances.

We, however, are being just as uneducated by allowing air travel as if the situation was normal- but in our case we are being wilfully ignorant.
