Here's What We Should Learn From Nigeria's Incredible Effort To Shut Down Ebola]

Prime Minister for Canyons wrote on Oct 17th, 2014 at 8:37am:
The problem as far as I have read about in the other countries is that the infected are in poor, remote villages where its hard to get to and hard to set up proper medical facilities, the usual African medical issues.

That's not a problem - that's good.  Isolation means it soon runs out of hosts and burns out, just as every other ebola outbreak has done before.  It's crazy to send or allow nice people to travel through there.  I think Bob Katter said something about this.

Yes but then that makes me instantly suspicious.

Please explain  Shocked  Huh Huh

Trusting people to self-monitor with something so vitally important is stupid. I also think a quarantine is a good idea. They should also have their temperature monitored before boarding at all transit points.

The system of air travel can't be self monitored: it's intergovernmental infrastructure that can't be left to the invisible hand of that joke of a dismal science called economics.

The governments build it and then the ghosts of market forces are allowed to import ebola around the world... I'VE HEARD OF LOOKING AFTER THE BIG END OF TOWN BUT THIS IS ,..., I DUNNO: i'M TRYING TO PUT THE CASE TOGETHER THAT IT'S MANSLAUGHTER !??!

BOB KATTER SAID SOMETHING... ATLEAST BOB KATTER SAID SOMETHING... I DO WONDER WHAT CLIVE PALMER AND JACKIE LAMBIE HAVE TO SAY ASWELL... HEY AND GLEN LAZARUS TOO WHY NOT... AND THE POKIES GUY  Smiley

[ that was a serious smilie btw]

Agreed Stunt Free Horse - anyone coming from Africa should be quarantined in the National Interest and as a matter of urgency.

I think it's going to go viral in the U.S.  Once Ebola starts in a Country its like trying to put out a bushfire with 90 k an hour winds blowing down on you.

LET'S PLAY IT SAFE

For once Abbott is 'Not Committing' on the Health front to Africa.

I think his caution is wise.

The United States could pay the price of an epidemic because they have jumped in without due diligence. Now it's going to spread there.

For instance. The plane that shipped the Nurse who has it did five more flights before it was finally taken out of Commission on Health grounds.

How many possible victims could emanate out of this shocking error?

Many mistakes have been made and because the U.S. did not prepare properly, before committing resources to the outbreak.

It's all very well to go out there and conquer sickness world wide.

It is another thing all together to invite that deadly virus into your own Country, through ignorance and human failure  and due diligence.

Australia has a right to tread carefully.. and we aren't the only country doing so!
