Marriage represents recognised commitment. Nothing to do with heteros.
If it was representative of hetero then every hetero would be married.

Except, of course, it is a heterosexual social institution. Men and women, the tow sexes, organising their relationship is crucially necessary for social cohesion, stability, propagation. Homosexual relationships are completely irrelevant to social cohesion and organisation.

Homosexuals want to get 'married' precisely because marriage is a normalising institution and has been for millennia. Homosexuals want to pretend that their relationship is essentially the same as that of men and women in marriage. But it is not. It is a deviance from heterosexual marriage and gays want to co-opt marriage precisely to cover over that deviance.

For most of its history marriage has not been - and still is not in many parts of the world - about two people loving each other. Marriage is about society, not just the man and woman who marry. Homosexual coupling has no social relevance. This is why gay 'marriage' is ridiculous play acting.
