Do you want the opposition to get out of the way the same way the last opposition got out of the way for the last 6 years.

The last opposition said no to anything and everything for the last 6 years

NO THEY DID NOT>.. something like 85% of legislation was passed....maybe even more...

get your facts right sunshine.

All the legislation was pass by a minority government in the lower house, so the government had to negotiate with the independents to get it pass in the HoR then it pass in the senate with the greens supporting it.

So it had nothing to do with the liberal party.

If the liberal supporting the legislation back then why are they repealing it all now or not funding it at all.

So you get your facts right sunshine.

The Coalition never supported the carbon or mining taxes.

Thats not quite true because it was Howard who came up with the original carbon tax..the ETS.
And the Libs supported the ETS both parties went to the 2007 election proposing but pulled support when Andrew Robb escaped from the insane asylum he was banged up in and decided to install Abbott as leader.

the coalition didn't support anything that made the headlines ..... it was all the mundane housekeeping stuff, which is the majority of bills, that they supported

Wasn't it Tony Abbott who said that it was the oppositions job to oppose the govts agenda?

"Oppositions are not there to get legislation through. Oppositions are there to hold the government to account. And unless we are confident that a piece of legislation is beyond reasonable doubt in the national interest, it is our duty as the Opposition to vote it down"

-Tony Abbott

http://www.themonthly.com.au/issue/2013/july/1372600800/waleed-aly/inside-tony-a...

And that's what the Coalition did. Records will show they said yes far more often than they said no. It seems otherwise because the no votes attracted more media attention.

These bills are known as "housekeeping"
They apply to public servants being paid, etc.

Abbott
blocked ( ... or delayed) pretty much every policy and reform
Labor
took to the election

Not actually true. He has no "right". The only mandate comes from numbers, you have them, or you don't.

No, he said the job of the Opposition was to oppose bad policy and facilitate good policy. It's not his fault that the previous Labor govt was a good-policy-free-zone!

So what are you complaining about?..Coz thats what Labor is doing  Tongue

Labor's still a policy-free-zone, with nothing on offer but spite and anti-Abbott rhetoric.

And thats how it will stay until the front bench is changed

I guess, but in the end numbers are all that matters. I have never liked the mandates argument, no matter who is using it because the same applies to every elected official. They have a mandate to pursue because they were elected as well.

Why doesn't the government wish for cost benefit analysis, armpit?  Why do they want to avoid environmental impact studies, armpit?  Something smells fishy, armpit.

so why would a party that was SO adament about CBA done on any government project now trying to pass legislation that allows them to ignore CBA on their infrastructure projects?

Sounds like you were scoring an own goal Smiley
