Dunno whether it is as simple as that.  He's let Abbott off the hook on the repeal of the carbon tax, but has adopted what is really ALP Policy on an ETS, and he will not allow the Climate Authority to be rubbed out.

It wedges Abbott on his commitment to Direct Action which Palmer won't support, neither will Labor, and I dunno about the Greens.

That sounds like good policy rather than revenge.

How would the climate authority be financed without an ETS?

that's tony's problem: he's the one intent on getting rid of the carbon tax.

Stupid comment groggy.

PUP will block the tax but not the abolition of the authority.

Abbott wants to get rid of both.

Where does PUP suppose the funding will come from?

I suppose the same place that the compensation for the carbon tax comes from. Grin  Like I said, clown boy, it's Tony's problem, he's the one who's dying to open up this can of worms.

Doesn't alter the fact about how much vote PUP got compared to any other party though does it or the government.

You guys love to roll this out don't you?
Like it actually means something, but lets just extend your thinking of majority of votes ='s unfettered power.

You'll notice PUP actually got 200K MORE votes than the Nationals & seeing as Liberals rely on National votes to actually win government ( you'll also notice the ALP has 180K more votes than the Liberal).
So what your saying is Labor should form government & Tony should have a coalition with PUP. Grin

There is no DA tax... unless you just made on up or they altered their policy...  please provide a link to the info.

DA is paid straight out of consolidated revenue, Tax $$$
If paying for something with tax $$ is not taxation exactly what is it?
Then again you think a price increase to cover costs by PRivate enterprise is government taxation, so who knows what you're thinking Cheesy

It's not a wedge...  it's deliberate obstruction.  Against the majority will of the people.
Who the hell does Palmer and his party, who on a poofteenth percent of the vote think they are and have the right to do?

HUH  Grendel?   how do you work that out.

Yeas.....it was another nadir from Grendel.  I guess he believes that if someone elected on a platform is not part of Government they are obliged to abandon their platform and merge with Government.  Weird, wot?

Neither Liberal or National have ever wanted to get rid of the Carbon Tax, only its carrying of the Labour name.
