For those of us who have lost hope, Aussie, and have no idea how Abbott was planning to legislate his climate change policy, can you explain the intricacies of his planned legislation.

'They' will meet down the Australia Club, shake hands, have a very expensive meal on some one's tax payer funded expense account, have drinks (ditto), and divvy up the corporate welfare (Direct Action), agree to pay some dodgy invoices into a LNP illegal slush fund, have drinks (ditto), have cigars (ditto), shake hands, and go home with a Big Woodie knowing that if they can shag Australia then they are virile enough to get laid tonight as well.

Easy, LNP politics in a nut shell.

Palmer is a frantic child. He is desperate for Parliament to throw him a lifeline and stop the Chinese taking everything has got! A process already well under way!

Each time the liberal and nationals say no to keeping the Chinese away from him he throws stomps his feet at at them.

Gets his photo in today's paper and is gone tomorrow. Only Palmer thinks he's a somebody.

Pig Ugly Party Senators hold the balance of power only in their dreams.

They will be permanently sidelined in the Senate.

They "share" the balance of power with the ALP and Greens

Incorrect. In limited voting block PUP holds the three needed votes. The odds of them ever being needed are highly unlikely!

Liberal/National Party               33
Australian Labor Party              25
Australian Greens                    10
Palmer United Party                   3
Democratic Labour Party            1
Nick Xenophon ..                       1
Liberal Democratic Party            1
Family First .                             1

Clive is taking revenge on the Mad Monk and the LNP as slowly and painfully as he can. Wink Grin

Dunno whether it is as simple as that.  He's let Abbott off the hook on the repeal of the carbon tax, but has adopted what is really ALP Policy on an ETS, and he will not allow the Climate Authority to be rubbed out.
Actually it is all ALP Policy... remove carbon tax and adopt an ETS.  It is also Malcolm policy.

It wedges Abbott on his commitment to Direct Action which Palmer won't support, neither will Labor, and I dunno about the Greens.
they are against it...

That sounds like good policy rather than revenge.
Nope.  abbott was right, ordinarily a tax is easier to remove.  However Clive's policy is not as simple as it's been portrayed.  The detail being he wants it to be set at $0 until all other major "polluters" have such a scheme running themselves.

So, where does Abbott go from here.  It was his Policy taken to the election, that there will be Direct Action to replace the Carbon Tax.  Palmer has said 'nah' to that.

Wedged beautifully.  Over to you Mr Abbott.

Only revenge Clive is taking is farting when the doors shut.

He and PUP are nobodies, the media desperate to win back some attention off the social media outlets promote the bullshit he and PUP are be all end all, when in fact just a bad joke, the wind will soon blow away.

It's not a wedge...  it's deliberate obstruction.  Against the majority will of the people.
Who the hell does Palmer and his party, who on a poofteenth percent of the vote think they are and have the right to do?

This is what Abbott should do. If he holds strong and puts his repeal in the senate, leaving the policy unmodified and it gets blocked again, he should go all the way to the next election and make it a pure and simple election on the carbon tax.

Live by the sword and get his mandate and numbers needed to do it on his own.

You obviously don't pay attention to the latest opinion polls.  People have had a taste of the carbon tax, they no longer seem to care as much as the nutties did.

The majority of people did not elect a liberal majority in both houses.  This is how the cards have been dealt and pup has every right to bring forth their policies for debate.  Just like the senate has every right to review lower house legislation in the interest of their represented states.  I dunno about ur state, but I don't wish to see victoria pay direct action tax for other states with higher carbon intensive industries.

Only days before the 1st July, reality finally hits home.  I'll tell you what we think we are Grendel.  The Party which has yours by the gonads.  (It's like that bloke in the Dentist's chair with the Dentist hovering over him with the drill in  hand.  Bloke grabs the Dentist by the balls, and says....'We won't hurt each other, will we?)

If Labor and Greens stand against Abbott (and it seems they generally do) you will need to come cap in hand to us.

Eat it.

+1  Wink.

And the Mad Monk's choice is to smile as he takes it in the butt from Clive or go back to the People in a DD.

Or the Mad Monk can 'return service' and come up with some other machination with the other parties. Wink Smiley.

May you live in interesting times.  Smiley

We live in a time where the stalemate on key policies in the senate has every chance of resulting in an election next year.  The key for all parties is to remind Australians constantly about how tony has overstepped his mandates, and his clear lying on just about everything.
