And Clive reveals the catch - no ETS until our trading partners do it  Roll Eyes

What a cop-out. One wonders why Al Gore is standing shoulder to shoulder with Palmer on this.

Palmer is a frantic child. He is desperate for Parliament to throw him a lifeline and stop the Chinese taking everything has got! A process already well under way!

Each time the liberal and nationals say no to keeping the Chinese away from him he throws stomps his feet at at them.

Gets his photo in today's paper and is gone tomorrow. Only Palmer thinks he's a somebody.

Pig Ugly Party Senators hold the balance of power only in their dreams.

They will be permanently sidelined in the Senate.

This is what Abbott should do. If he holds strong and puts his repeal in the senate, leaving the policy unmodified and it gets blocked again, he should go all the way to the next election and make it a pure and simple election on the carbon tax.

Live by the sword and get his mandate and numbers needed to do it on his own.

Nice thought, but there is zero chance it will happen as has been discussed on other Threads.

For those of us who have lost hope, Aussie, and have no idea how Abbott was planning to legislate his climate change policy, can you explain the intricacies of his planned legislation.

Are you suggesting he calls Palmers bluff on a DD, or are you suggesting he splits the legislation and holds onto the next election?

He should make it an agonizing long time until the next election, reminding people of all the other parties position on the carbon tax and only a big victory by the liberals will suffice. It will be a sweet victory.

Yeah, guess monkey is too gutless for a DD. Yet the longer monkey waits the more people want to keep the Carbon Price.

He'd be far less repugnant if he actually valued his constituents in his own electorate even a little bit, but as always, it's all about Palmer!

Funny, but the political judgment of some on the other side of politics exactly the same - pass everything and have the Mad Monk voted out in a landslide and keep the LNP in the wilderness for a decade  Huh.

If Australia elects Abbott to power on his polices and gives him the senate, they deserve what they get.

ETS commences 1st July 2015. Already past the House and past the Senate.

Gore is not standing shoulder to shoulder with Palmer, he is taking his money to attend a function with him.

Gore appearances now comes part of his specials package for appearance.

Maybe they're going to be happy with that if the majority elect him. Isn't that the way it usually works? Duh!  Roll Eyes

Guaranteed there will be something in it for Clive.

Clive is Clive's primary motivation for doing anything.

I have no idea, and neither does Abbott.  No doubt Peta will whisper sweet nothings in his ear overnight and he'll tell us tomorrow what her response is to Palmer's announcement.
