Well because it reduced 60% to 18%. As long as society has "timed" sentencing then it is a matter of harm reduction.

Go tell the 18% how happy you are about it.

Aiming for 100% is impossible. To even get close you need a pervasive police state and assumed guilt.

There will always be victims of crime. Some of them will be repeat offenders. Unless we lock up / execute all criminals on the first offence, this will part of society.

There are ways of course to reduce risk.

A bullet to the head will reduce the risk of repeat offending of child rapists.

No it doesnt validate the complaints but it makes the recidivism statistics claimed meaningless. me too.....we seem to do more for the worst dont we?..

we protect them in jail...we keep secret where they live when they come out...

it all seems pretty hunky dory for them...why would they change???

no fear of jail..protected on the inside and the outside....and in between these co called experts.,. Roll Eyes

...make a fortune thinking these guys actually want to change... Grin

we should do as much protecting our kids...

thats been tried I believe...however you do not have to have a sex drive to do awful things to children........thats the problem.... and thats what they fear..its like giving some medication......its ok if they take it.. but you cant make then take it..

maybe they will come up with a implant.. that should certain thoughts go through their minds.. they get an electric shock....... well just saying...

The problem is most abuse is from close family members and trusted friends, not from being snatched in the street.

Who the hell views prision as an ok time?

What we are talking about is changing actions, not desires.

Ok, what is your basis for this?

Further research yields the evidence that over long periods of time there may be more re-offence than other offenders, but such evidence is limited due to lack of studies.
