I wish the royals would go and get a job and start paying taxes instead of helping themselves to other peoples taxes Sad

I had gone through so many hate/like feelings for the royals, that the 2 questions above were always prominent in mind, and I do have an article, from only a few years ago, how the Queen was not paying any taxes and how she got away with it.
In this day and age, whilst many struggle to even get some pension or sickeness benefit after working the grind for all their lives, so the royals should pay taxes, but alas, the article was such that the tax paid wasn't much and would make no difference to their wealth, but just to shut the rest of the country up, yeah, they paid "some" tax.

William and Kate, I like them the most of all the royals, and think they are good models for their generation, and to be honest, they are the only ones for that reason, I have great respect and admiration for.

As for William's father, I have no respect for him at all, with that affair with Camilla, and leaving Diana out in the cold, if Charles had treated her as a proper wife, not just a baby maker. I am sure Diana would still be alive today if she were not treated as the outcast.

The legacy that made an impact via Diana, is that her son William is more warm and human than the rest of the royal brigade.
I also admired Kate for accepting Diana's engagement ring as her own.

In a way, we have no choice but to put up with the royals and all their splendor of living in the lap of luxury.

Would love to live as they do, just one week would be a nice adventure, shopping with no budget concerns. Sigh.

I bet, my bottom dollar virtually, that if they had to live as we paupers do, they could not budget to save their lives, true!  Grin

Royal visit to Adelaide shocks Victorian opposition

3 Mar 2014 - 4:13pm

Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews is shocked the royal couple would choose Adelaide over Melbourne and wonders why anyone would go to the city of churches

Why would anyone want to go to Adelaide?

That's the question being asked by Victorian Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews who is disappointed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit the city of churches, but not Melbourne.

The royal couple will visit the northern Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth, which is named after the prince's grandmother on April 23.

Mr Andrews is shocked Melbourne has been snubbed and blames Premier Denis Napthine.

"How is it that we've got to a situation where the royals would rather visit Adelaide than come to Melbourne," he told reporters.

"What is going on in our state that we can't even attract members of the royal family, to come to Melbourne, to come to Victoria when they visit. Who would want to be going to Adelaide. Apparently the royal family do."

Prince William visited Victoria in 2010, touring areas devastated by the previous year's Black Saturday bushfires.

In 2011 the prince visited Victorian towns affected by floods.

Dr Napthine, who was visiting the fire and smoke weary Victorian town Morwell, said he would have loved for the royal family to come to Victoria and possibly boost the morale of Morwell residents, but he was not surprised.

"We in Victoria have been blessed with a number of royal visits, particularly from Prince William over in the last couple of years, Dr Napthine said.

"We'd love to have them and certainly invite them anytime in the future, particularly to visit Morwell."

...

Morwell residents struggling to cope with smoke and ash from the Hazelwood coal mine fire in Victoria have called for compensation and evacuation.

Good on em good luck to them.

The Royals work tirelessly for charity and they never seek recognition so they are an easy target for the soft cocks...

I think the Duchess of Pork was a bad influence on Diana and you can't point the finger at Charles when she was running around like a cheap hoe with multiple men and an utter embarrassment to the royal family. ..

Anyways. .. good luck to wills and kate... I like these two...

I had to laugh when willy told kate she should wear some alpaca wool in her hair and she says back to him that he could wear it to cover his bald spot...   Grin

I enjoy having a look at what frock Kate is wearing but overall, I would rather be watching My Kitchen Rules.

Mind you, they never tell us the real nitty gritty on the news. I am not interested in seeing them give a wave but (as an economy class traveller myself) I would love to have a look at the inside of the plane they travel in and see what their seats/beds look like.

I consider Royalty a totally pointless, highly expensive institution.

Bread and a circus. The Romans knew how to keep the sheeple contented.
