I like them. The institution is a brilliant one precisely because it is not subject to the latest whims and winds of political and social fashion.

On the news all the time, every bloody radio bulletin. What I would like to know is, what are they achieveing for us on their trip here, and are they paying their own way, or we?

I wish the royals would go and get a job and start paying taxes instead of helping themselves to other peoples taxes Sad

Hi Nail,
Monty Python sums it up:

Quote:
ARTHUR:  I am your king!
WOMAN:  Well, I didn't vote for you.
ARTHUR:  You don't vote for kings.
WOMAN:  Well, 'ow did you become king then?
ARTHUR:  The Lady of the Lake,
      [angels sing]
her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur
from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I,
      Arthur, was to carry Excalibur.
      [singing stops]
That is why I am your king!
DENNIS:  Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords
is no basis for a system of government.  Supreme executive power
derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical
      aquatic ceremony.

Righteous wanker.

There is a world of difference between reporting a sporting event and gashing over a pair of 'do nothing' bloodsucking Poms.

I loathe AFL, horse racing, car racing, Olympic tidlywinks  and a thousand other sports that get forced on to us as news. But they are a thousand times more newsworthy than these two waste of space oxygen thieves.

If you didn't come across as being so miserable, you could almost be thought of as humerous....

BTW...
Did you remember to kick the dog when you got up this morning??

Now, come on, give us a smile; it's not that difficult....
