I think the argument for the Jewish homeland was the millions of Jews slaughtered by Hitler, and the millions expelled from middle eastern countries shortly after.

That was just the culmination of 2500 years of murder and persecution of Jews, while being scattered among Gentile nations. The Romans massacred over a million Jews in the 1st century, and the pagan Emperor Hadrian (who invented the term "Palestine") killed another half to 3/4 of a million Jews again in the 2nd century. Murder and persecution of Yahweh's people goes all the way back to the Babylonian captivity.

Israel has been their homeland ever since Yahweh granted it to the seed of Isaac through and everlasting covenant, as an everlasting possession.

Jews ruling and reigning in Israel again, their power over their land restored in 1948 and their city in 1967, as prophesied by Daniel right to the year, through two parallel math problems that span 2500 years:

No FD, the Jewish homeland argument predates Hitler by over 40 years.

It was based on several centuries of expulsions and mistreatment by almost every European country, occasionally aided by the Christian churches.

Absolutely not "just as prophesied", seeing as we have yet to see the dead rise and be judged according to the passage of scripture you decide to completely ignore because it doesn't fit.

And zionist leaders were calling on the Palestinian population to be ethnically cleansed since the 19th century.

Even Lord Curzon blamed Arab unrest in the early 20th century on provocative zionist calls to take over the entire area of Palestine - and beyond:

Says Lord Curzon in 1918:

Quote:
They now talk about a Jewish State. The Arab portion of the population is well-nigh forgotten and is to be ignored. They not only claim the boundaries of the old Palestine, but they claim to spread across the Jordan into the rich countries lying to the east, and, indeed, there seems to be very small limit to the aspirations which they now form. The Zionist programme, and the energy with which it is being carried out, have not unnaturally had the consequence of arousing the keen suspicions of the Arabs

The argument has probably been around since the diaspora. That kind of misses the point though. The reason we actually have the state of Israel is because of the holocaust and the expulsion of Jews from middle eastern countries. Not many Jews would have bothered if the argument was "we need a state of Israel because of what happened to Europeans Jews in the 1700s". They took it a bit more seriously when the argument was "we need a state of Israel because Hitler killed millions of us and the Arabs are ethnically cleansing the middle east".

FD the expulsion of jews from arab countries happened after the Israeli state was created.

Again, no. The Mandate of Palestine and the partition plan for a Jewish State and an Arab State in Palestine dated back to about 1922. The Balfour Declaration dates to 1917.

Yes, but it probably would not have lasted without the "help" of the Arabs. It would certainly look very different to how it does today. You can't just keep pouring in Jews without a follow-up plan, can you?
