Puff the magic dragon has magically puffed the evil global warming heating into the ocean via the magical mystery trade winds.
Global warming models didn't account for Puff the magic dragon but sure enough he is there and now global warming models must claim Puff the magic dragon as there own.

The ocean conveyor is well known so to say that the taking of heat into the depths of the ocean is unheard of is simply incorrect.

More wind just increases that process.. or was it the extra heat sinking that impelled the wind change??

Oh that's what they are talking about.  I was beginning to wonder what they were "puffin" and 'draggin". Whatever it is, it isn't magic. Put that stuff down, it will rot your brains.

Either that or it's just regression to childhood. It's a common symptom of senility, along with an anti-scientific stance.

You can find out about what the (current) government is doing about Climate Change here:

http://www.cleanenergyfinancecorp.com.au/what-we-do.aspx

Quote:
Delivered abatement at negative cost to the taxpayer of $2.40 per tonne of CO2 abated (net of government cost of borrowing)

Nothing crazy about it. You denialists are going to find yourselves increasingly marginalised. Even the Coalition has had enough of the denialist freak show.

Yeah, read about the trade winds driving the extra heat into the Pacific. The P. is large but not infinite and the extra heat it holds is going to do something not too nice at some stage—fiercer El Ninos?

Yep the heat, cooler than the atmosphere, is hiding in the ocean. It is going to rise and expose the fraud of thermodynamics, the cooler ocean is going to heat the warmer air.

"AGW scare" is a misnomer. You don't know what I do, so you can't know what I am financially dependent on.

Your statement could equally be applied to dentistry or any other area of expertise:

examples:

You are a dentist, so you are financially dependent on (the scare of) dentistry.

You are a baker, so you are financially dependent on (the scare of) bakery.

You are an environmental scientist, so you are financially dependent on (the scare of) environmental science.

You're not really saying anything significant.  Your arguments are toothless, you are financially dependent on being anti-science, and I scoff at your verbal master baking.

At what time of day/year would it warm the cooler air? I'll ask DRAH, because he seems to have a better grasp on reality.

Lee,

In this part of the world, we can swim all year round. Even in the Winter, when the air temperature is low, the water temperature is warmer.  There are warm ocean currents all over the world. You might have heard of some of them, like the North Atlantic Drift for example.

- and yes, the heat from the ocean can and does transfer to the surface, resulting in milder winters in some parts of the world.

Now you may think that you're smart parroting something you read on some idiotic blog, but right now, you're not looking all that smart.

That's what the whole thermohaline conveyor is about ya f'n tripper! The worlds oceans move energy around the planet due to more than salt and temperature but also wind and tide making it difficult to separate what is responsible for what because it is the very definition of a complex system...  Grin Grin Grin

Ya wanna another billion word circle party do ya? Well, I cost a pretty penny don't ya know handsome!!

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Kiss

They don't know if they conveyor is going to slow down freezing Europe or not because it is still controversial as to if the oceans circulation is responsible for Western Europes temperate climate or an equivalent atmospheric phenomenon... which is likewise just as controversial.

..haven't you been listening ??  Roll Eyes

The atmosphere predominates in distributing temperature the further you go from the equator,... so as for Western Europe what predominates is A COMPLEX QUESTION  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
