Vote buying the left way.

This would make labor and the unions criminals also under the new laws surely.

Yes, and the unions are doing the correct thing.

I support them 100%, as would most DECENT people, and those
who see the reality behind these filthy 'laws'.

Gotta help out the stand over men. Where else would labor and the unions find them if they were in gaol or weakened

Unions standing up for completely unfair treatment of average people?

Who would have thought?

From the article it would seem that a significant number of people in the building trade are members of motorcycle clubs.  A few of these clubs may have some sort of criminal connections, but others are probably just motorcycle clubs, even if the members have the outward appearance of being bikies.

This legislation allows the government to cancel a licence held by anyone who has any sort of association with anyone in whatever club or organisation the government decides to target.  Without the appropriate licence, you cannot work in the building industry.

The unions are defending the rights of a section of their membership.  That is what unions are for.

I posted this in the VLAD thread, but it is relevant here too.  For all the police powers and rights being taken away, do you want to know what the result has been?

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/the-end-justifies-the-means-why-queen...

Quote:
Officers as part of Operation Resolute, created in response to offending behaviour of Criminal Motorcycle Gangs (CMGs), have arrested 384 people on 817 charges since October 6.
But of the 817 charges, only 28 – or 3.4% – can be considered “organised crime” type charges such as drug trafficking and extortion.
Even more interesting is the proportion of overall crime statistics these figures account for in that two-month period. In Queensland, 73,309 offences were reported in October and November 2013. Bikies accounted for only 1% of these offences.

The only people who need to fear these laws are those with links to criminal bikie gangs such as Bandido's, Finks, etc. It's just another case of if you're not doing anything illegal, you have nothing to worry about. Grow up.

Hey Armchair, do you agree that if you have a party of 12 and 3 of them swear, you as the organiser can go to prison and pay a $12,000 fine?

No, because that wouldn't happen. But it's nice that you only think of extremes, eh?

Really!!!  Click here.

Quote:
But according to the draft bill, a party is a gathering of twelve or more people. And it is considered out-of-control if three people at that party do something like be drunk in a public place, cause excessive noise, unreasonably block the path of a pedestrian, litter in a way that might cause harm to the environment, or use "indecent" language.

The punishment for holding a party that gets out-of-control? A $12,000 fine or a year's jail. In other words, a party host is punished for the actions of party guests. For good measure, the bill allows police to enter property uninvited without a warrant.

So you have to go to the most extreme of circumstances to attempt to justify your ridiculous point of view. Thanks for the good laugh!  Grin
