You understand the word precedent right?

My point is why not simply adopt the same military policy as the US and Israel?

Abbott is a genius to trick Indonesia into patrolling their own waters. They will have the obligation of picking up boats in destress and now we can push them to stop the boats.

They may provide fuel to Australian boats coming in and turn them around ???

Again we see weak disloyal Australians more than happy to push the blame for Indonesian weaselism on to their own government. Labrats you are a total disgrace to your country. God help this place if your duplicitous incompetent idols return to office, the country will be economically stuffed, more so than it was when the present government was elected to office, and which they have been forced to waste valuable resources on trying to return this place to viability.

I'll bet if you had to chose between supporting Bin Laden or Gillard, your choice would still have been Bin Laden ..  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

You mean patch things up like when Abbott had to deal with Rudd's spying on Indonesia?

Exactly, but Abbott failed with that patch, probably because Johnny spied first so he had nowhere to go.

No, it was Rudd who initiated that spying. Also, Abbott did not fail. At an operational level between our military heads, the relationship was unchanged and their military head actually agreed with us and not his political masters. It's an election year for Indonesia - you can expect a lot more rhetoric from their politicians about these kinds of issues now.

Even Downer admitted Australia has spied on other countries for years. Being a patsy for the government makes you look even dumber than you are,if that's possible.
Anyways Indonesia have every right to protect their waters The fact they have deployed a frigate when they start shooting at us it's phoney Tony's fault if Aussie sailors lose their life.

For me it isn't about what Indonesia either do or don't do.

It is what Australia does.

For me deliberately breaching our agreements and illegally entering the waters of a foreign nation is unacceptable.

I expect Australian governments to act honestly , with integrity and legally.

I can except that you think this standard is too high.

I would be critical of a Labor government behaving is the same manor.

Imagine the outrage of the conga line had it been revealed it was Indonesia invading Australian waters on a regular basis?

Other countries - yes. He did not specify which countries. As for the Indons protecting their waters, we aren't exactly invading. All we're doing is returning Indonesian-flagged vessels back to Indonesian waters after denying them access to our waters, as is our right. If you really think an Indonesian ship would attack a RAN vessel, you're out of your mind.

Well seeing as this whole issue arose from one of our vessels going into their territory, this is clearly NOT all we're doing.
