Government has the right to tell me how I can defend my life, & with what I can defend my life, or the lives of my family, or the lives of my friends. Government has the right to say I don't have the right to defend or protect lives with a firearm......specifically with a pistol, why, because that pistol might jump out of my hand, run up to a psycho, put the psycho in a trance, then force that psycho to pick it up, & then by it's overwhelming powers of suggestion, make that psycho become a mass murderer? Done laughing? Now, that's just plain stupid,,,,,,,,,,,,,Right? Is it any more stupid than government having the right to tell anyone how they can defend & protect their life with in the first place? Am I missing something....I certainly hope so, but if I am, where?? Well the problem has been excessive force. Let's say you did have the right to carry a firearm for self-defense, & were carrying, please define what do you consider the use of excessive force when you believe your life is in danger because a drug crazed crim is holding a big knife on you while demanding money, & you have reason to believe he will probably kill you no matter how much you give him? I'd be happy that he just has a knife, and not a gun. As someone who has been on the wrong side of a gun multiple times, I assure you, Im much happier if they have knife. Of course, they wont have a knife if its easy to get a gun...... Gun,,,,,,,Knife.....if your life is in jeopardy either way, without any realistic recourse, you're defenseless, & at their mercy (which probably won't end mercifully). As for me, I'd rather slip out my Beretta, give him a quick warning to back off & flee, but if he insists on proceeding, which is highly improbable, but if he did I'd squeeze off 3 quick ones into his center mass without hesitation. If that's considered excessive, tough, but in the end he won't threaten me or anyone else ever again. Let the pompous "horse-hairs" have at me....I chose life.....mine rather than his....every time....full stop. http://imgur.com/6tcmHQH.gif Have you ever been in a situation where you needed your gun for self defense? Im talking reality, not hypothetically.
