.... and I believe grasshoppers, and toilet insects such as cockroaches and nameless crawlers are a favourite with the Chinese if lightly sautéed in butter while still fresh and alive.

Cockroaches (cooked with love and passion and heart) skewered on sticks a la shish kebab can be a crowd-pleaser down amongst the homeless when the Soup Kitchens are closed on Public Holidays.

Go to the Pet Food section of your local Coles or Woolies supermarket and you'll pick up some very tasty tinned morsels there.

'No Name' or 'Home Saver' brand tinned Tuna in Springwater is delicious with shredded onions between buttered slices of bread.

I read the book 'King Rat' by James Clavell (1962) ~ and the consensus of opinion is that barbecued rat is on a par with chicken for taste and texture.

And then there are pigeons in the park .... Cool

Yeah well there's no need to stoop that low to be shopping for dinner in the Pet food isle.
