Royal commission into Abbotts role

Will we see a Royal commission into Abbotts role into the death of this worker and what he and his ministers could have done differently to prevent the death ofd this young man. The second death at this mine since Abbbott took over.

Don't his family deserve answers?

thats so sad I hate to hear of anyone being killed... but where does it say this was a GOVT run program?????..

and I am so sorry to see this young mans tragic death is a political point scorer for some...this will I am sure be investigated by Workers Comp Fairwork..anything that is usual with work related deaths/accidents...

.from what I read working in a mine takes skills these days..

.and not all deaths are contributed to management..

he Department of Mines and Petroleum has directed FMG to tighten its safety procedures.

The department has ordered greater direct supervision and safety checks across all FMG sites and says it will audit the company's safety programs.

The Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union's Mick Buchan says employees have made their safety concerns known to the union.

the vastness of the whole thing I would imagine makes being 100% safe almost impossible.... Sad

The govt provides the miners subsidies to run the mine, and approved of their processes before giving approval for the mines to begin. If Rudd can be held responsible for finacing the batts, Abbott can be held responsible for finacing the mines.

By the way cods, the govt. didn't run each operation, they merely provided the subsidies for it. Much the same as what they do with the mines.

I thought Gillard was an awful PM with terrible policies and a Government with a shocking economic record.
