There's plenty of extremely wealthy lefties in the world so being envious of the rich is hardly an issue for progressives.
Social conscience and progressive ideology are not determined by anyone's financial wealth and in fact most of the dirt poor people in first world countries that Ive met through my life (rednecks etc) are as far right as anyone could get.
