These people come here and think that they can just destroy Christian values and ruin holidays for others. And the sad part is that many non-Muslims seem to encourage this by pandering to them. Many preschools and schools refuse to call the holidays the 'Christmas Holidays' any longer, because apparently it is politically incorrect. In addition, many malls and shopping centres no longer play Christmas carols, especially the more religious ones that talk about the birth of the Saviour Jesus Christ. This country was founded on Christian ethics and values, and sadly we seem to be losing them. Muslims are like a cancer, too, they just spread and spread and try to take over, and unfortunately, many are letting them do it.
As a non-Christian, non-Muslim, non-Jew, non-Hindu, non-Buddhist, non-Confucian, non-Shinto, non-Animist, agnostic.... I think your position on this topic is bunkum.
Muslims are not trying to push for the destruction of Christianity. Secular people are doing that, simply by pointing out the flaws of religion. I had a whole year of non-Christmas messages, and it has only been the last few weeks that Christmas has been in the media. In fact, I might go and have a look at the decorations in the shopping centres tomorrow, and decide for myself whether the promotion of Christmas is being encouraged thoroughly.
I was born here, and had an Anglican church attending mother, and a secular father. I attended the church with my mother and two siblings. Didn't really pay much attention to the sermons, and found that they were a waste of 50 days of the year for 17 years. When a girl in my class asked if I was religious (at 12 years of age), when I told her not to swear, it was a real turning point for my own insight. That was the end of religion for me.
This country was not founded on Christianity. I think the only religious implication in the founding was the dismissive "Thank God that boat ride is over". Other than that, our founders of this country were more interested in getting a full belly, and surviving. Imagine how long "praying to God" would have went over in a colony that could grow their food, and had to rely on being resupplied from South Africa.
As for your Islamophobia, I wouldn't be at all surprised that they are growing. If you spent more of your time concentrating on family and having many children, rather than updating your car, house, plasma tv, etc., then the number of descendants you have in your community will grow, too.
