Is anyone surprised that Julie Bishop is a bare faced liar?
But things are much better now one term tony has made it easier to adopt overseas kids after their parents have been tortured raped and murdered. Its much safer than getting on boats to escape for their lives.
One term tony is all heart  Grin

This does NOT make it OK to treat people.  ANYONE this way.  if Australians are being treated that way then they shouldn't be either

Do you think it is acceptable to keep children in the conditions I have described?

I'll take that as there are no Australians receiving free living essentials from the government.

Essentials are provided by the Red Cross. ....

What do you think genius? It illustrates that Australia treats them far better than other countries do, yet people like you pillory this government for humanely protecting its borders.

What is it with right wing posters liking to constantly incorrectly infer all the time?  Italians hosing down asylum seekers doesn't mean we are okay to keep people in conditions that lead to S
Suicide. You truly want a race to the bottom.

Hey MM, how about you stop scurrying under rocks and answer a bloody question once in a blue moon.

I thought I made it clear, but I'll make it clearer just in case you missed my question.

WHAT ARE YOU BASING YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT CONDITIONS ON DETENTION FACILITIES ON

Well that was a nice hour she had gullible people thinking detention centers were OK .  Yup, not answering questions, didn't meet any children, which means if she did meet any asylum seekers it was the single men's group.

Also, to compare it to a miners camp is a joke.  Firstly, miners have a choice, and are payed very good salaries, secondly, find me an Australian mining camp where they sleep in freaking tents.  What a joke

Europe is closing down, the next Labor party in line with its history of punitive policies will withdraw from its UNHCR obligations.

People worldwide are getting sick of forced immigration.

"far better" does not equal "humanely".

Nor does it mean we treat them inhumanely.

Prisoners.

Now, do you think it is acceptable to keep children in the conditions Stratos has described?

Prisoners, lol. okay.  Roll Eyes

I don't believe those sources. They are political and therefore have an agenda.

You only believe what you want to believe: prisoners don't receive free food, clothing, and shelter from the government; Australia treats asylum seekers humanely; and, Santa Claus will be coming down your chimney in a few days time.

Only Misty    Roll Eyes

A fair dinkum idiot.

Oh I know prisoners receive it all from the tax payer, I just thought it was a stupid example.

I wonder how much of Andrew Bolt you take seriously? Probably none. Why should I take some far-leftist political organisations seriously?

There is a huge difference between an extreme rightwing newspaper columnist with a history of not getting his facts right and being too lazy to check his sources, and a reputable worldwide human rights organisation.

You doubt Amensty International simply because you don't like what they report. If they said all was hunky dory on Manus and Nauru you would be singing their praises.

Right?

Interesting to note the President of Italy and the Mayor of Lampedusa have both condemned the treatment of asylum seekers on the island.

Yet Onya Tone says nothing about Manus or Nauru.

Come now Cods, I have made it very clear that the conditions in both detention centers are reprehensible, and most importantly of all, no place for children.  I know you have mentioned you have grand kids, would you be happy if they were in this situation?

Read the amnesty report, look at the comments from the UN representatives which have already been posted.

We do not force them to come here no.  However we do force them to stay in a hot, rat infested camp indefinitely.

Again, another country having a poor record of treating refugees is no excuse for our own.

Just as I thought:

Murdoch media [or insert other 'nasty' media here] = biased, untruthful.
Left-wing organisations = unadulterated truth.

Enjoy your naivety.
