For all the outraged luvvies.  I posted this yesterday but it is appropriate here as well and couldn't be bothered retyping it.

But one question, where were you all and your protests when Labor introduced these laws?  You clowns excuse anything of Labor.  Where were the SIEV X hands on the hill protests under Labors watch and 1000 plus bodycount?  Imagine if Liberals had introduced the PNG solution.  You would still be wailing, as it was, hardly a smacking peep.

No respect for you lot at all.  Not even the courage of your convictions.  smacking pathetic and hypocritical.

After all, it is Labor not Liberals that have the history of being cruel to asylum seekers.  Though you wouldn't know it from the luvvies.  Grin

Lets see they legislated mandatory detention, you can thank Keating for that,  excised the mainland (despite previously describing it as "a stain on our national character", got rid of govt funded vocational and English lessons, no automatic access to the dole and in cases where it could be received, legislated that it be a lower amount,  they stopped asylum seekers being allowed to work and just for giggles decreed that asylum seekers be sent for resettlement in PNG.  All Labor.

What was it the great Labor man said?  Oh yeah, "I'm not having hundreds of smacking Vietnamese Balts coming into this country with their religious and political hatreds against us!".

Some of you lefties need to get a grip on which party you try to demonise.  Or maybe it is just ignorance of the facts.

A boat goes down after the Indonesian military escort them out to sea and somehow it's Howard's fault. Did it go down in Indonesian waters Peter?

If you read the Datalife posting that I responded to, he/she is inferirng that the SIEV x incident occurred under a labor government.  I merely corrected his mistake

I am not going to quibble about inferring, but, way to miss the point.  I know SIEV X happened under Howard.  Hence the rent a crowd of dreadlocked hippies and luvvies protests on Capital Hill.

No similar protest for the 1000 plus that occurred under Labors watch.  The dreadlocked hippies and luvvies must have been suddenly too busy to turn up.   Cool

That was my point, the hypocrisy.

The controversy over the SIEV X was about the Howard Governments lies and cover up.....

No one should be applauded for having a hand in sending innocent people to be detained indefinitely.

This clip shows Scott Morrison addressing detainees on Nauru just over a week ago. It was taken from local Nauruan TV. There’s not much I can say except the man is scum and the thought of him being a Minister in the government that runs this country is sickening.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
It's brilliant. Finally some balls shown on the issue.
My respect for Morrison just went up.

So you think australia should applaud and welcome them to go on labors gauntlet of death. Bring your kids, bring your wifes, your sick and your poor. The more of you that die at sea, the better you, the green and labor feel

Whatever keeps you able to sleep at night knowing that Australia has institutionalised the indefinite detention of innocent children.

There are not two options, death at sea or torturing innocent children.

And yes, at the moment the government (and previous government) is currently in the process of putting innocent children in conditions akin to torture indefinitely.

Do indonesia torture children. Do tell. Links would be great. I got links to their death at sea to Australia, but I am sure you know that but will pretend you don't.
