Christianity isn't a race.

Torpedo is right - racism is not just about 'race' - which is a completely outdated and meaningless term anyway. It refers to a fairly uniform set of cognitive processes that creates all sorts of discrimination - against ethnics, against skin colour, and yes, against religions. If you're interested, there is a fair bit of literature on islamophobia in the west, and the parallels it has to more classical racism.

The point is, someone else started a thread that claimed that so many tens of millions of "muslims" have been killed by other "muslims" in the post WWII era. Doubtless a fair chunk of those statistics came from exactly the same sort of secular conflicts that shouldn't really be inferred as being because of islam.

Funny how we never seem to make those kinds of distinctions in the muslim world. Undecided

Actually it was antitheoretical. In other words it was "anti-religious". It didn't just attack Christianity, it attacked all religion, hence the claim by Marx that religion was the "opiate of the masses". In the fUSSR all religions were suppressed, it was just because the bulk of the population were Christian that it appeared particularly anti-Christian, as such. It also tended to be more successful against Christianity than against other religions.
