Will the liberal Party think twice before endorsing nutty Evangelical Christians in the future?

Prolly Shaw was in the wrong party - he would have been better suited to the Rise Up Australia Party.

A Victorian election would be interesting right now.

The electorate was rightly pissed off with the unelected Brumby Govt.

Ted B was about as dam useless as you can get.

Napthine is interesting – seems to be going OK (not that I’ve seen any polls etc) but Andrews seems to have a lot less to say these days.

WTF are you on?

1. Brumby wasn't unelected.
2. Brumby was a disrespectful imbecile.
3. Bailleiu was seen as do nothing because he never spoke to the media. But Bailleiu was actually good in my books. It's a shame for once a politician just wants to do their job, and still that's not good enough.

Here is another article on this festering fiasco.

Victorian Independent MP Geoff Shaw charged over use of taxpayer-funded car

I quote the last two paragraphs of the article below:
Quote:
If found guilty of obtaining financial advantage by deception, Shaw could face up to 10 years in jail.

If convicted, Mr Shaw would no longer be able to hold his seat.

The Victorian Government is doomed.

Brumby took over from Bracks mid-term and lost the following election. He never actually won an election as Premier.

Baillieu was pathetic because he refused to be accountable. He went to ground whenever there was a scandal big or small and gave the Opposition a clear run to denounce the latest wrongdoing. His satisfaction rating dived faster than an anvil pushed off a cliff and his government's rating dived with it, plunging from 57-43 to 45-55 in a little more than a year (Newspoll).

The Coalition are polling better with Napthine as leader but they have not done better than 51-49 in any Newspoll for two years. This is lower than their 2010 election result of 51.6-48.4.

True it is a matter of opinion whether brumby was a smug prick or not.  But the election result in Victoria was not one of "it's time." it was more because of people's dislike of brumby.  So I'd say the matter of opinion is more swayed towards him being a prick.  And good riddance to him.

Labor had been in power for more than 11 years. Not many governments in Australia go for more than 11 years.

I found him inoffensive - perhaps not as likeable as his predecessor though.

Bimonthly Newspoll has put Labor at 51-49. This Newspoll is an aggregate of the last two months, so the latest developments in the Shaw affair have little bearing on this poll.

Also, margin of error, blah blah blah.

More details here: Newspoll: 51-49 to Labor in Victoria (Crikey - Poll Bludger)

interesting dilemma. If we are talking about Geoff Shaw, Napthine needs his independant vote to get his legislation through.  If Geoff Goes - bye bye Libs.   Grin

Of course we are talking about Geoff Shaw!  It is in the embedded link in the OP.

Smiley

I'm sorry - I can't see the embedded link.  Then again my eyes are 61 years old!   Wink

Dunno if http://au.news.yahoo.com/vic/latest/a/-/article/18973903/vic-mp-geoff-shaw-facin... is new, but it seems very reminiscent.  Cods will be very annoyed and no doubt demanding that the Government resign.

I re-post the following here, as it is relevant.

I have a feeling of de ja vu for some reason...

If you are a 'representative' of the community as politicians are and you attend a community event you are in effect working are you not?  Huh

Expenses incurred for attending are work related expenses and are claimed from your employer.  Huh

Clearly, most if not all of the following are for Private enjoyment!

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BV-QTw4CIAA_pyz.jpg

IF YOUR INTERPRETATION WAS ACCEPTED, THEN ALL POLITICIANS, WOULD BE ENTITLED TO RECOUP ALL MONIES OUTLAID, SIMPLY BECAUSE THERE WAS SOME ASSOCIATION WITH THE PUBLIC AND CLEARLY THAT IS NOT & NEVER WAS, THE INTENTION!

If Abbott or any other Politician wants to go -
for a Bike ride
to the Races (Melbourne Cup or other)
to the Cricket (Test match or other)
to the Football (AFL Grand Finals or other)
Car Racing (Bathhurst or other)
to Ironman Events
OR to any other event, which has no inherent value to the Public, then they should get or be found, another job, because they don't deserve the one they've got now!

Btw, you should try less SPIN & more REALITY!
