Israel continues genocide against Muslims

Peace talks at risk as Israel approves 900 more settlement homes despite Palestinian prisoners release

The long-awaited resumption of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks was threatened with collapse last night after Israel approved the building of 900 new homes for Jewish settlers in East Jerusalem – the latest in a wave of construction plans that has inflamed tensions ahead of the fragile negotiations...

...overshadowed by the disclosure since Thursday of Israeli proposals for more than 3,000 new settler units, including 1,200 in East Jerusalem and new settlements in the West Bank announced on Sunday...

...Close to 560,000 Israeli nationals now live in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. Israel occupied those areas in the 1967 war...

Goes to show that the Arabs should have accepted the 1947 UN partition plan, like the Jews and the rest of the world did.  You could ave had more than 60 years of peace by now.
But no. The Sons of Ishmael, the Arabs, had to be, once again, that 'wild ass of a man his hand against every man and every man's hand against.

Deir Yassin remembered

...Early in the morning of Friday, April 9, 1948, commandos of the Irgun, headed by Menachem Begin, and the Stern Gang attacked Deir Yassin, a village with about 750 Palestinian residents. It was several weeks before the end of the British Mandate. The village lay outside of the area that the United Nations recommended be included in a future Jewish State. Deir Yassin had a peaceful reputation and was even said by a Jewish newspaper to have driven out some Arab militants. But it was located on high ground in the corridor between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and one plan, kept secret until years afterwards, called for it to be destroyed and the residents evacuated to make way for a small airfield that would supply the beleaguered Jewish residents of Jerusalem.

By noon over 100 people, half of them women and children, had been systematically murdered. Four commandos died at the hands of resisting Palestinians using old Mausers and muskets. Twenty-five male villagers were loaded into trucks, paraded through the Zakhron Yosef quarter in Jerusalem, and then taken to a stone quarry along the road between Givat Shaul and Deir Yassin and shot to death. The remaining residents were driven to Arab East Jerusalem.

That evening the Irgunists and the Sternists escorted a party of foreign correspondents to a house at Givat Shaul, a nearby Jewish settlement founded in 1906. Over tea and cookies they amplified the details of the operation and justified it...

All Israeli settlements on Palestinian land are illegal: Kerry

All Israeli settlements on the occupied Palestinian territories are illegal, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says.

Kerry made the remarks during a joint news conference with his Brazilian counterpart Antonio Patriota in the Brazilian capital Brasilia, where he arrived on Tuesday after visiting neighboring Colombia.

"Let me make it clear. The policy of the United States with respect to all settlements is that they are illegitimate," he said.

A day earlier in Colombia, Kerry also said that the U.S. government views the settlements as illegal...

On Sunday, Israel announced plans to construct nearly 1,200 new illegal settlement units on the occupied Palestinian land.

Israeli Housing Minister Uri Ariel said that 1,187 apartments had been given final approval.

He added that 793 apartments would be built in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) while 394 others are to be constructed in several neighborhoods of the occupied West Bank, including Maaleh Adumim, Efrat and Ariel.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Tel Aviv regime approved the construction of another 942 settlement units in the occupied East al-Quds.

Al-Quds municipal councilor Yosef Pepe Alalu said that the municipality approved the plan for the construction of the settlement units in Gilo settlement.

Gilo is one of five major settlements in East al-Quds that were established by Israel following the Six-Day War of 1967. Israel occupied East al-Quds, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank during the war and refuses to withdraw.

The presence and continued expansion of Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine has created a major obstacle for the efforts to establish peace in the Middle East.

More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds.

The United Nations and most countries regard the Israeli settlements as illegal because the territories were captured by Israel in a war in 1967 and are hence subject to the Geneva Conventions, which forbids construction on occupied lands.

UN chief 'deeply troubled' by Israeli settlements

Ramallah: UN Secretary-General Ban-Ki moon said on Thursday that he is "deeply troubled" by Israeli settlement building and that it could ultimately prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state.

A day earlier, Israelis and Palestinians had launched formal talks on the terms of a Palestinian state, ending a five-year freeze. The talks were overshadowed by recent Israeli announcements on promoting plans for more than 3,000 new settlement apartments.

The Palestinians want a state in the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem, captured by Israel in 1967. Israel has built dozens of settlements there that are now home to more than half a million Israelis and are deemed illegal by most of the international community.

"I am deeply troubled by Israel's continuing settlement activity in the West Bank, including east Jerusalem," Ban said, speaking at a news conference with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

"The settlement activity is deepening the Palestinian people's mistrust in the seriousness on the Israeli side toward achieving peace. It will ultimately render a two-state solution impossible."

The five-year break in Israeli-Palestinian negotiations was largely due to a dispute over settlements. Abbas insisted on a settlement freeze as a condition for talks. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the demand, arguing that all issues should be raised in negotiations with the Palestinians...

The West Bank was not a sovereign territory in 1967. SO Israel didn't occupy the territory of another country. This is why technically the West Bank is not 'occupied territories' under the convention.
If the West Bank had been part of another sovereign state in 1967, then yes, it would now be properly called an occupied territory and settlements there would be against international law.
But as it wasn't part of any sovereign country, the settlement aren't illegal. They don't help with the efforts to appease the Arab terrorists, but they aren't illegal settlement.
