It is not a great big new tax at all.
It is only going to be levied on a specific group of big companies.
As for mantra's rot...

let's see her back that up with some facts.

Something she continually fails to do.

The Liberal scheme is much more generous than the ALP scheme.  Perhaps that is the problem.

It certainly is a surprising result but one I think is very soft, Unless you believe that voters are genuine fools it is hard to comprehend that so many people could change sides on the basis of just the change of PM.  and when it is a return to a PM that his own party loathes and one that we know wont remain leader for long it makes even less sense.

Disappointed? absolutely.  but surprise is the far greater response.

Why would you be surprised? You seem to assume that people actually liked the prospect of an Abbott government, and now they have inexplicably turned their back on him. That was never the case. Previously they only said they'd vote for Abbott because Gillard was so on the nose. So it was never about endorsing Abbott, but merely expressing how much they disapproved of Gillard. No one should be at all surprised that the equation has turned on its head now that Gillard is out of the equation. Its pretty much just as Rudd himself said - people want an actual choice - the subtext to that is, they want a reason to not vote for Abbott.

it is the extent of the comeback that is surprising.  only 2 weeks ago Labor was so far behind they were looking at losing 50 seats and now they are looking like losing very few.  So what has happened?  just Rudd.  I find the notion of replacing one PM with another whose own record as PM was poor and then getting such a poll bump to be near impossible.

Gillard was hated (and liked by her colleagues) while Rudd is liked (and loathed by his colleagues).  in such a world, Im not sure that normal logic applies.

Only in the small minds of the extremist Right.

You know, the fools who support Abbott.....

I, for one, am glad it's turned into a contest again, rather
than merely a walk-in by the worst possible choice.

And the subsequent mix of petulance and viciousness in the
response from the Con-alition and its rusted-ons has been
better than a TV sit-com to watch....

No...  the carbon tax is a great big new tax that effects everyone we all use electricity...

this levy will not put up our electricity bills.

And you seem to forget that it was to be offset with a reduction in company tax.  Now put at risk by the huge deficit created by labor.  oh dear  Grin

Question: Gillard failed to connect over her ...

Strange that a queer labrat posts a poll with a selection of inane questions which denigrate a Labor leader and former PM, then crawls from under his/her rock when another no-hoper KRUDD cons his way back after being sacked which seems to make such a significant impression on him/her, so much so that he stares out the window of his little butter-box with a silly smug expression on his face, then returns to his computer to play with the colours, not to mention the very big letters.........

Buz you really do hate women, you sad little poof!

No see by definition, I wasnt going to vote for the ALP regardless.

The ALP voters like yourself seemed to have flocked back to the ALP run by a man but deserted it in droves when run by a woman - so you can within the support base of the ALP is a seething underbelly of misogynistic hatred.

I had never deserted labor dopey, man or woman it makes no difference ... they are both miles ahead of Abbott in the brains department

Quite telling really considering the accusation thrown at Abbott. I'd say that Gillards little his sky fit in parliament wasnt really directed at Abbott, it was direct directly at the ALP and its supporters.
what are you on about?

This proves it correct.
Under a woman = no ALP voters
Under a man = ALP voters come back

Coalition voters= not stupid enough to vote ALP at any stage.

more than stupid enough to vote for Abbott

I believe the polls but, either I don't understand why ppl would prefer 50K boat ppl under Rudd rather than Gillard, or why they prefer our debt to hit 500B under Rudd rather than Gillard, or why ppl prefer a carbon tax under Rudd but not Gillard??

because no one other than Abbott gives a bugger about the boat people ... it's a non issue that has been politicised for the sake off a few votes ... as for debt maybe Abbott needs to explain how he plans on getting rid of it before anyone can take him seriously ... slogans no longer cut it

I just can't fathom how all those who are against boat ppl carbon tax debt labor corruption etc where all screaming under Gillard, but now they are cool with it under Rudd.

Seriously, it defies belief. But we are fools and the governments treat us as such.

We get the government we deserve, and Rudd and co will see us off the cliff to financial ruin, we're half way there already.

If you add up all the debt of local councils state govs and fed gov debt, we're not that far off the % level of debt to places like Spain and Portugal.

We're fkd.

Maternity leave tax is not a great big new tax because it only applies to some companies.

Carbon tax is a Great big tax even though it is applied only to some companies.
