yes I highlighted that...  that myth that the ALP dolts keep bringing up like it was a truth they dearly needed to hold onto.

You might do yourself a favour and not rely on Polifact as a back up also, it is a propaganda site run by LW progs.  The truthometer is just a... biased opinion meter.  The only one I've known to try and say otherwise was Monk otherwise know here as George H and probably a few others by the looks.  Grin

Yes its so biased that so far most of the things tony has said are marked as true and has caused Me to slightly reconsider my despise of him.  How interesting.  But I can understand how a tea party member may confuse truth telling with LW propaganda.

And it was a myth spread by the liberal party. How interesting.

... and we've heard that -
ad nauseum
- from the day Kevin Rudd became Leader of the ALP (2006) and it was clear from the first poll that Howard was "dead meat"  ( ... his words, not mine)

But it JUST WON'T HAPPEN

Australia STILL has the most resilient economy in the world - and shows NO sign of abating

According to our official credit ratings - the Australian economy is in its BEST shape in HISTORY

Costello and the Howard Government NEVER ONCE got this "tick of approval" that Swan and the Gillard Government was awarded

All good points. Colourful too.

I wasn’t talking about the economy, I was talking about the choice of leaders. More importantly, the state of demokracy as a cheap soap opera run by vested interests that allows them to prosper.

It is the truth, I'm not surprised you deny it the only person that lies more than you here is longwhinyliar.
As for business doing it tough, wow, the world is in crisis Australia is considered to have the best performing economy in the western world yet you still look for negatives, conga line dancers have such a sad negative life. Maybe you'd prefer the US, Europe, or even Japan? Na didn't think so. When the rest of the world is so buggered what do you expect of Australia? Oh that's right, the conga line still think we are a  cocoon immune to the rest of the world, and these imbeciles want control of the treasury. Roll Eyes

based on rudds stellar rise in the polls I think you could claim without dispute that it is the AUSTRALIAN PEOPLE'S consensus.

The Australian peoples consensus was that Gillard failed to explain her policies.  It is only the extreme partisan consensus that "she was a bitch."

she took the ALP to its lowest polling in history and 24 hours after she was booted the ALP is close to 50/50.  how exactly would you describe that except as a complete and total repudiation of Gillard and everything she stands for. Se was well below Abbott and Popularity and Rudd is now way above Abbott.  Again, how could you possibly interpret that as anything other than an utter dislike for Gillard?

I agree there was a total dislike for Gillard, BUT you are delusional not to admit that there is also a total dislike for Abbott, if Gillard was the most hated politician in the country Abbott was/is the second most hated. Saint Kevvy could not have turned those polls around like he has if Abbott was liked and/or respected. Until you admit that Abbott is the coalitions problem it is all going to end in tears, for you.

I don't repudiate a dislike for Gillard. I repudiate you calling her a bitch and then claiming its acceptable.

I must say, I'm not so much astounded that there IS a turnaround in Labor's fortunes - but more by the sheer MAGNITUDE of it

Where WAS the electorate's big problem with Gillard - that is now not seen as a problem with the party, itself ?

The "knifing" of the sitting Prime Minister  ( ... I so LOATHE that expression - especially by our more intelligent political reporters) ?

Apparently NOT - as her PERSONAL ratings in "the polls" rose immediately AFTERWARDS - and couldn't Kevin Rudd be tarred with the same brush ?

That debatable "broken promise" on ...
"There will be no carbon tax on a government I lead - but I am DETERMINED to put a price on carbon" ?

It's hard to SAY
Polls from month back show the electorate now BACKS carbon permit fixed pricing - as the introduction to our Emissions Trading Scheme
( ... I suspect this MAY have been due to this "carbon tax failing to flow through to a retail level - or showing any noticeable impact on mining, industry, unemployment - or legs of lamb - and a "lapping up" of the overcompensation packages)

The electorate are fully behind such Gillard reforms as Fair Work Australia ( ... and the abolition of the much hated Howard WorkChoices), the NDIS, education funding reform, etc - - much of which achieved through a difficult, hostile hung parliament and minority government

So where did she do SO WRONG ?

It's looking more and more like Australian's didn't so much want a change of GOVERNMENT - as they did a change of PRIME MINISTER

And I'm STILL at a loss, as to why

( ... hence, the "tongue in cheek" poll)
