It can be a risky business if you're a Talkback radio host asking women if their boyfriends are gay ...

How many of those working out of, and for, those Wog McMansions were Islamic?

None that I saw in 6 years of casual work. Not a hijab to be seen anywhere. I think they were too busy pumping out their annual babies for the first 10 years of marriage.

Lionel Edriess wrote on Jun 14th, 2013 at 7:19pm:

Greek Orthodox, Lionel. Catholic Italians, but I was only commenting on the aging wives of couples who had already bought their dream homes ~ and some ~ and whose children were adults.

It just seemed a little absurd to me that while the Centrelink queues were packed with young singles and young married fellows, they couldn't get a job because thousands of 'Maria's' and 'Helen's' right across Sydney and Melbourne were greedily helping their husbands pay off their fifth investment properties.

Under my rule no such ridiculous anomaly would be tolerated.

simply because they dont get the jobs they apply for thanks tothe prejudices in our society for ppl wearing hijabs. Funnily enough that back when nuns were still wearing habits in australia there was no such prejudice against them.

Ha!  Grin

One of my best friends (a Lebanese Muslim) once dropped this little bomb on me about nuns wearing hijabs, "so what's wrong with our women wearing hijabs?"

To which I replied, (quick as a cut snake) ~~ "In the Christian religion you can wear a hijab ONLY if you're 'married to Jesus' and remain celibate without indulging in 'pleasures of the flesh' with a man".

... To which he turned on his heel and stalked away in a sulk, muttering darkly about needing to research bomb-making materials and remote-control detonators... 72 virgins ... mutter... mutter ... mutter ... exposed cat-meat ...  mutter... mutter ...

The wearing of the hijab is a public insult to all those women who do not wear a hijab. It signifies 'modesty' and 'virtue' ~ and by implication it cites the non-wearer as being immodest and lacking in virtue.

I wouldn't call it ugly.

But the hijab irritates the hell out of me because of ...

1. ... its moral conceit and pretentiousness.

2. ... its ostentatious piety.

3. ... its antique Medievalism.

4. ... it being symbolic of chatteldom and female submission to patriarchal dominance.

5. ... Its public declaration of minority ghettoism.

6. ... It acting as a billboard to warn 50% of the population that these girls are preserved exclusively for marriage with Muslim men.

7. ... It being a very public rejection of the Western social values of gender equality ... secular apparel ... non-discrimination upon grounds of religion for marriage etc ... social and demographic inclusiveness ...

8. ... It being knowingly, and self-consciously, and aggressively, and incompatibly un-Australian, un-Western, un-21st century, and a spit-in-the-eye to the Infidel host people of the kuffar-land they chose to migrate to.

As opposed to the nuns habit of serving as a billboard that they are also unavailable

Western? Anyone can be a muslim from any part of the world. nuns also reject gender equality etc.

Islamic scholars have publicly stated that the wearing of the hijab is totally a matter of personal idiosyncrasy and has nothing to do with Sharia law or any other Islamic instruction.

And what this means is that women who turn up for jobs in hijabs have only themselves to blame if the employer doesn't want someone parading around the workplace looking like a billboard for all the points I've made in my previous post.

I'm sure the same would have happened to me if I'd turned up to job interviews all my life wearing a top hat as a personal choice that was not required of my religion.

A lot of these immigrant Muslim mothers who dress their small Australian-born daughters in hijabs know very well that they are making exhibitions of their daughters as not belonging to the mainstream, and for whom assimilation into the host culture is not an option.

These bitches should be deported straight back to the Middle East.

And then there's the niqab... dear o dear o dear ...

peeky-boo.

What these people need to do, now that they are no longer living within the cultural prison of the Middle East ~ is simply grow up.

These neurotic affectations need to be dispensed with now that they are living in a country of the 21st century.

Nuns belong to Religious Orders. Theirs is a life-long vocation in various Sisterhoods that practice abstinence from 'Worldly Pleasures' and a frugal existence of service to others.

In contrast, we have the rank-and-file ordinary Muslim woman flattering herself as being piously 'modest and virtuous' and yet who lives for herself and sleeps with her man for carnal pleasure and self-indulgence.

The hijab is an outrageous moral conceit.

Seriously? Your problem with how ppl dress is your judgement on their motives for how they dress? Nuns think they are pious etc - they think they are married to a fairy in the sky. they think they are better than everyone else because they dont have sex (@ least they arent supposed to).

herbert is right, on all points regarding the Hijab. It nneds to be said that the majority of the worlds Muslim women do not wear and are not forced to wear the Hijab. It is a cultural habit and not a religious one. It is simply a sign of subservience to males. Allowing this is backwards step. These people will never be inclusive within our society and they are also teaching thier children not to be so.
Do we care what other people wear? Of course we do, in Western scoiety we have an innate cultural distrust of people who cover their faces and rightly so. 90 percent of all coimmunication is non verbal. With a  persons face covered it is simply impossible to communicate on any sophisticated level, while this may be ok in the Middle east where women are owned by men as simple chattels it is not ok in our society. If you think it is ok then you are simply nuts.

Beware of those people who choose to dress in a way that is radically different to that of the mainstream host people ~ generation after generation ~ and who consciously defy the Western tradition of keeping ones religion and ones politics a matter of confidentiality in day-to-day life.

These people wear their non-assimilationist intransigent defiance as a matter of pride ~ generation after generation.

And eventually, given the fullness of time, this ALWAYS ends up with bloodshed and rioting in the streets between these no-assimilationist colonisers and the host mainstream.
