editing your old posts
Jan 8th, 2013 at 7:19pm

we haven't been able to edit our old posts in a long time, what gives? we should be able to imo, its a basic forum function and its annoying esp when you want to edit out something you wrote a long time ago.

I use the editing feature to correct spelling and gramma etc maybe to re word a section or add a comment in the time frame where a post is current and find it works fine.

I do not think that historical revisionism should be encouraged.

You can rest assusre JC that I will not be trolling through you posts from last year looking for supposed contradictions.

If I wish to comment on your position (which I doubt) it will be about your current thinking on the topic.

hahahah well said..... that means even Abbott has a right to change his mind..

just being mean dna..

why would you want to change something in the past...just say it was something not nice about a person...

hasnt the damage already been done???

an apology is fine..if you own your mistakes.. or wish to take something back.. be man enough to front up..

Currently you can edit your own post up to 1 day, but you can't delete your own post. My personal feeling is that you should be able to delete your own post up to say 12 hours and I can understand why somebody would want to do that, especially if they have said something that they regretted.

Also, if you have posted a picture that you change your mind about publicising (for example if it's easily traced to your real identity) then maybe we should extend the limit a bit more.

FD - What are your thoughts?

I know my name isn't FD, but allowing people to delete posts is annoying. It throws the whole thread out because it ceases to make sense. When there's an edit to remove text, at least people know there was something there.

What about pictures? I don't know if it's possible to remove them from the gallery or not.
