Out of curiosty I looked back to the OP and find that the comment there has nothing to do with the question asked in the topic heading. Obviously the originator of this post just wanted to vent his spleen.

So, back to basics - do you believe that Jesus Christ existed? From your answer I can continue.

Who are you talking to?

SOB

Anyone who thinks that I am. Just as usual when a comment is posted?

Usually when a question is asked there is a quote from the person being addressed.

No i do not believe there is a jesus or even ever was a jesus. It is possible there was someone named jesus @ some point but he wasnt a god. IMO he was a fictional character though. Just my opinion.

I also dont believe in fairies or leprechauns or gods.

SOB

So straight away you don't believe what secular historians have written. So your "belief" colours everything.

What?

SOB

Are you acting ignorant - or the real thing?

You arent making any sense. What "belief"? What "secular historians"?

SOB

I can see that you are not up to debating the topic. Just nit picking. So I will leave you to your nits. Bye!!

You make random comments about things that werent discussed then say i dont want to debate when i ask what you are talking about? Obviously you dont want to "debate" hahahaha.

Well then you are one part of the universe looking at another part.

We are still - each and every one of us - the universe perceiving itself.

That is your spiritual message for today.

This message continues for all of human time.

Er.. who perceives the perceiver?
I am looking at the universe and perceive it. Who is looking at me? Who is perceiving me, the observer of the universe?

The universe? Which is then a different thing from m, the observer.

Who then perceives these two, the universe looking at me, and me looking at the universe?

What does it mean???

For Christians, I imagine it is to uphold the laws of God, as laid down by himself incarnate in Jesus.. necessary seeing as his earliest followers, ignored the rules He  originally set,  quite merrily and bloodily,   laid down as Commandments, .... heaps of 'm.. !!  so He had another go, and Himself, as Jesus,  had lots more luck the second time around. So successful, that they still try to uphold , and spread them, to this very day.!!

For non-Christians.... ??  manage Christians as best as possible.  Smiley

Interestingly, since I switched Browsers.... I now get the red squiggly line when you have miss-spelled something....  and it seems non-christian is considered incorrect  but non-Christian spot on.

My BROWSER is a christian construct...!!!!!!!!

If its firefox it does the same thing with muslim and hindu etc. Its the worse spell checker i have ever seen. I had a word processing program with a spell checker in it on a 5.25 floppy back in 1989 that was better. It was called "first choice".

You do not get it. It's not about the uncertainty principle (cat in the box - not that you'd get that).

It is about the observer being (subject) unable to encompass himself (object) completely.  There will always be a bit of the unobserved observer left over.

Try it. Look into the mirror or look into your heart. You will not see yourself completely, in either sense.

Oh  I've looked in the mirror....

so what you are really saying is that we always have a piece of ourselves, our essence, apart from our reality.  A piece we don't consciously recognise....
most/all of the time.

There is a name for that,..people like to name all sorts of ideas.... our brains being as complex, as multi-plex  as they are,  I'd say I agree with you  entirely..
I do get in touch occasionally with that part of me...  but it IS just a touch.... rather  hard to fathom actually,.. Smiley  ..as it not doubt ought to be..

I just don't see what that has to do with Christianity.

Someone said that we are just one part of the universe looking at ourselves - but since we can never look at ourselves without some of our observing part remaining itself unobserved, that's a crude explanation as far as rejecting Christianity is.
What I said is not a proof of Christianity, only a proof that we are not 'just' one bit of universe looking at itself.

Hmm..I don't quite understand what you mean..?
I don't see how Christianity fits into this observed-observer universe.
