In response to crusty nails christian hating or loathing thread about christians

What does it mean to be an atheist ???

WELL YOU BELIEVE IN NOTHING, YOU BELIEVE IN DARKNESS, IN BLACKNESS, NO AFTERLIFE, THERE IS NOTHING TO LOOK FORWARD TOO, pretty empty when you think about it.

NO WONDER CRUSTY NAILS COMES ACROSS AS A BITTER PERSON Grin

You believe that the universe came out of nothing and became somewhat of a free lunch like stephen hawkings believe if any of you watched that SBS show STEPHEN HAWKINGS GRAND DESIGN ???

While atheists like to look at the sins and the cruel past of parts of christianity, like the spanish inquisition, etc, THEY WILL NEVER HIGHLIGHT THAT ATHEISTIC MINDED PEOPLE LIKE STALIN, MAO, POL POT BECAME SOME OF THE 20TH CENTURIES BIGGEST HUMAN BUTCHERS,

So what does it mean to be an atheist ? to look forward to NO AFTERLIFE ??, A COMA WITHOUT DREAMS THAT WILL FOLLOW DEATH, does it make an atheist content with that thought ??? what does it really mean to be an atheist ??

Some atheists may believe that and some may not. It has nothing to do with the lack of belief in a deity.

Basically being an atheist isnt too bad these days (you just live your life without the guilt imposed by religions) but occasionally some arsehole comes along and asks your religion. Then the judgements start. Anything you say or do is suddenly wrong (even though it wasnt before).

His government promoted atheism through special atheistic education he implemented in schools, along with anti-religious propaganda, he promoted the antireligious work of public institutions (Society of the Godless), discriminatory laws against religious believers, and he intiated terror campaign against religious believers in the 30s, the decade of the purges.

Are you sure he didnt inflict some of his butcherism to dimish the eartern orthodox religion and enhance atheism ???

most christians don't even understand the definition of athiesm but like to convince others there is so much more to the definition when there isn't.

While atheism denies god, everyone judges from a moral, epistemological, and/or ontological framework or perspective. What I'd like to see is atheists explain their point of departure for positive judgements. By 'positive' I don't mean a negation of religious superstitions, but an assertion of a number of principles on how people ought to act and/or think.

For the record, I am not religious.
