25,000+ evacuated as Cyclone Debbie reaches Australian shoreline

A tropical cyclone carrying winds of up to 263km/h (163 mph) approached the northeast coast of Australia on Tuesday. Footage shows the category four storm battering the shoreline of Mackay. More than 25,000 residents have been evacuated, meanwhile, mining operations in the area have been suspended and ports closed. The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that Cyclone Debbie may gain intensity and cause widespread destruction and flash floods over the coming days.

Even whilst inland, ex-tropical cyclone Debbie blew a destructive force. Last night, I watched television with the wind blowing the blinds wildly around the house. The rain pelted down all night to have about 70mm of rain by morning. I guess that was 60mm over a couple hours and then 10mm drizzle until morning. If that was what we got last night, the coastal towns from Bowen to St Lawrence must have copped a battering.

Now-former President Park Geun-hye faces at least 13 charges after having businesses donate to a fraudulent Foundation in exchange for political favors.

She also shared highly classified State secrets with a female aide with whom she had an intimate relationship. Police arrested her before she could destroy or tamper with the evidence.

Via the use of subtle propaganda, she had the people of South Korea convinced she was a champion of progress and human values. When they uncovered the truth, however, millions of people took the streets and demanded she step down and be arrested.

Thanks to the people’s determination, the now-former South Korean President has indeed been arrested, reports say.

The arrest took place today and a convoy of black vehicles was observed transporting her to jail.

The people of South Korea began celebrating upon hearing the news.

“Finally we see that it can happen. Justice is real,” said one commenter.

The disgraced politician was found to be involved in numerous instances of high-profile corruption which resulted in over two million people taking to the streets to protest against her.

It was also reported that she was involved in occult activity or rituals during which she believed entities were taking “complete control” of “her body and mind.”

The Seoul Central District Court gave prosecutors permission to proceed with the arrest now that she has been impeached.

Despite her crimes against people, some of her die hard supporters (mostly elderly people who may not have been aware of the news) were still calling her “president.”

They tried to block the convoy of cars so that she couldn’t be taken to jail. Police pushed those people aside and continued with the arrest.

Now that she’s behind bars, official charges are expected to be filed within 20 days and a sentencing is expected by Winter.

She is expected to be charged with several counts of bribery and abuses of power. Just one bribery conviction can result in life imprisonment in some cases.

She was reportedly taking millions in “donations” from businesses, though the businesses said they felt forced to give it to her.

She was also letting the daughter of an occultist see highly classified information, and that daughter would then make policy decisions despite being unelected.

She was South Korea’s first female president and also the first president to be impeached and locked up with the possibility of life imprisonment.


Park Geun-hye often portrayed herself as a champion of progress. Sadly, it was all an act, for behind the scenes she was involved in high crimes designed to enrich herself while leaving people impoverished.
South Korean police are being hailed as heroes for doing the right thing. They wasted no time arresting her, as they feared she would try to destroy the evidence.

Russia’s central bank opened its first overseas office in Beijing on Thursday, marking a small step forward in forging a Beijing-Moscow alliance to bypass the US dollar in the global monetary system.
It was part of agreements made between the two neighbours to seek stronger economic ties since the West brought in sanctions against Russia over the Ukraine crisis and the oil-price slump hit the Russian economy.
Will warmer ties between US and Russia leave China out in the cold?

The opening of a Beijing representative office by the Central Bank of Russia was a “very timely” move to aid specific cooperation, including bond issuance, anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism measures between China and Russia, said Dmitry Skobelkin, deputy governor of the Central Bank of Russia.

Russia is preparing to issue its first federal loan bonds denominated in Chinese yuan.
Officials from China’s central bank and financial regulatory commissions attended the ceremony at the Russian embassy in Beijing, which was set up in October 1959 in the heyday of Sino-Soviet relations.
Financial regulators from the two countries agreed last May to issue home currency-denominated bonds in each other’s markets, a move that was widely viewed as intended to “dethrone” the US dollar.

In 2017, Jupiter comes closest to Earth one day after its opposition date, on April 8, coming to within 414 million miles (666 million km) of Earth.

On April 7th Jupiter reaches opposition, when it shines brightest and appears largest. The solar system is lined up so that Jupiter, Earth and the sun form a straight line with Earth in the middle. It will appear highest overhead at midnight.

Through binoculars, you should be able to see Jupiter's four Galilean moons, Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. Through a telescope, Jupiter's cloud belts and zones are easily visible, and the Great Red Spot can be seen beginning its transit--or crossing-of the disk every 10 hours.
