The last time the Yanks had any kind of convincing outcome as a result of their military might was when they dropped bombs on Horishima/Nagasaki. That was a cowardly hit and run where they really didnt get their hands dirty. Since then we have had the debacle in Vietnam....(yeah, thats right they didnt lose, they CHOSE to get out) Iraq has been destroyed to the level where its not safe FOR ANYONE! add to that Afghanistan, now there is a real success of a war.....what else?...um. Well they have successfully set up a few dictorships in Sout American countries, while disposing of democratically elected leaders....

They knew no better, they really thought they had won, that's why they were heading home, anyway ignorance is bliss they say.
