Yes, because the hierarchy covered up for the offenders. This has been common knowledge within the community for decades. The parishioners should have lobbied the church to take appropriate action. They are all guilty by association because they stood by and did nothing to protect the children. Those few who went against the church and reported certain incidents should be praised. They were mostly the parents of abused children so it would have taken a certain amount of guts to go against the people you trusted.

Stop using this issue to make nasty comments about all religion.

Religions have billions of people. Not all of them are good 100% of the time.

Then blame the people who covered it up.  No point smearing a billion people for the actions of, I dunno, maybe a fw hundred.  Or is there?  I'm getting mixed messages here......

What did you do to protect the children?  It is common knowledge after all - if you did nothing, you too are just as guilty as 99.9% of catholics.

Forgiven.

Dear Robert - it seems like you have a problem with this investigation.
What are you afraid of?

Oh nothing,  I'm just so confused.  Every day I'm hearing how "not all (insert designated victim) are like that" and how I shouldn't make generalistaions based on silly things like statistical data, empirical evidence and so forth.  Now I'm hearing it's our right, nay our duty, to hold all 1 billion catholics to account for the crimes of a few hundred people in their hierarchy.  It's just so darn inconsistent.

Not from me: My argument is that all Catholics who said nothing should die of shame for not reading their own biible!!

To Verge -
bullshit, you are an apologist for the catholic church. you have proven that time and time again !! Just like you defended the catholic church when they took away a house from invalid children and their carers and they had no shortage of resources to defend it in court !! Same as now. The catholic church has no shortage of resources to defend paedophile priests Sad

You were right on the side of a corrupt religious institution just like you are now !!

Hi Nail,
I wonder if we can find the actual text link?

Here's one:

Verge

Firstly, your questions are irrelevant, because at no stage do they address the rights of a woman to gift her assets to anyone she sees fit.

Secondly, The Church is the Order of the Capuchin Franciscan Fathers
in Australia has had no such allegations you and nail speak of.

So you still have no proof the Church has done anything wrong do you nail or bobby.

So instead you are playing diversionary tactics to sway people which doesnt work.

I would of though you pair would at least respect someones right to do with their money as they please.

Any proof it was stolen?

Any proof they are all pedos.

Just among some others

so the church was busy spending the money given to them by their parishioners on legal fees so they could do a couple of disabled kids out of a place to live and you were all for that Sad Where is the churches compassion in helping out the needy instead of helping themselves ?? There is no compassion when it comes to needy. Only compassion for money which is what the church is all about Sad
