One in 20 priests an abuser, inquiry told
http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/one-in-20-priests-an-abuser-inquiry-told-20121...
Quote:
AT LEAST one in 20 Catholic priests in Melbourne is a child sex abuser, although the real figure is probably one in 15, the state inquiry into the churches' handling of sex abuse was told yesterday.

RMIT professor Des Cahill said his figures, based on analysing conviction rates of priests ordained from Melbourne's Corpus Christi College, closely matched a much larger American analysis of 105,000 priests which found that 4362 were child sex offenders.

The intercultural studies professor also told the inquiry that the Catholic Church was incapable of reforming itself because of its internal culture. He said the Church's Melbourne Response abuse protocol had to go, and the state would have to intervene to achieve it.

Pedo supporters your time is coming.

Given that Catholic Priests are a subset of Australian males if fair to assume a similar % of males in general  are similarly disposed! And consequently a similar % of Police, School Teachers and Politicians.

Sorry! they can't all be tarred with the same brush, that's why the Catholic Church is the one facing a possible royal enquiry. It is endemic within the Catholic Church and to a lesser degree the other Christian denominations.

That's not to say there isn't paedophilia present in other areas, but not to the same degree.

One in 20 priests, not butchers, bakers or candlestick makers.

But did they (the priests) become paedophiles, or do paedophhiles choose to become priests???

Why? Because you havent yet seen it in the newspaper?

, that's why the Catholic Church is the one facing a possible royal enquiry. It is endemic within the Catholic Church and to a lesser degree the other Christian denominations.
That degree is an unknown quantity and pretending otherwise is plain silly! There is no reason to think that unless the RCC actively recruits pedophiles that they would have any higher % than any other group. They might but unless you can give some evidence to that effect you cant really talk about it!

That's not to say there isn't paedophilia present in other areas, but not to the same degree.
Really You want to compare groups like Afghani Males or Private School Teachers and see if it isnt 1 in 20 or better? If there is a difference between one group and another its probably because those groups offer better availability to "talent" than others and so attract people predisposed to pedophilia!

One in 20 priests, not butchers, bakers or candlestick makers.
Dont bet on it

Let's start with a royal enquiry into the Catholic church, then other denominations/religions, then bakers and school teachers.

Although there doesn't seem to be the same level of protection within other groups, so maybe we can leave them out of the enquiry. They have no cloaks to hide behind, some don't even have a god of their choosing to forgive them.

I wonder why the Catholic church was chosen as the one most needy of a Royal Enquiry?

This is a non argument because the real issue here is the covering up, not the amount of pedos.
Also, professions like being a priest attract a large number of pedos like flys to shyt so they are going to have a greater concentration.

If you were a pedo would you get a job where you'll get protected from prosecution and moved around constantly for fresh victims or one where your likely to get caught?

Most pedos "groom" their victims, in the case of being a religious icon of the community priests don't have to do much grooming which is a huge benefit for them. Something that most pedos would understand cause they are calculated phukers.

Why are Catholics worse if they are? Celibacy would be the most likely culprit followed by Catholic families having more children hence a greater access of little  bums to root, add the whole catholic guilt, Papal Infalability and tendency to melieve the church knows best!
It would be interesting to find the breakdown of boys and girls or both raped by each denomination of religious dicks!
