Alcohol is more harmful than many illegal things. I dont see it as anything to do with the government what ppl use be is smoking or drinking or even drugs. Its none of their business. However since they ARE interfering why arent they focusing on the most dangerous thing of all? Because THEY partake of it themselves thats why!

you are not looking at the broad picture... thats why you say its none of their business..

our medical system is over loaded with people who do not do the right thing..

and thats everyones business..sadly.

someone needs to make a start if this is it.. so be it..you will never know if something works until you give it a try..

thats the problem.

people in general are out of control..we dont know how to behave when we are out on the town.. they look like animals to be trying to devour each other..

in my time we didnt have the pubs and clubs open all hours.. and I for one do not recall the fights and damage that is now the norm.

we didnt have vandalism or cars smashing though windows.

I wish I had the answer I would sell it for starters..

but we need more responsibility and ownership for what we do..

Pubs used to be far more violent than they are now. Our whole society is getting less violent, despite the constant claims it is going the other way.

People who can't distinguish between etymology and entomology bug me in ways I cannot put into words.

So because some are irresponsible the government should step in and control everyones lives? Oh and how is it "everyones business" if the hospitals have a few drunkards? We dont have enough hospitals or hospital staff is the problem. Baling it on smokers and drinkers isnt the right way to go. Investing in better healthcare is the way to go.
