now, now greenswin,
we need some pragmatism along with idealism.
the green voters of the world still want to surf the internet on computers powered by electricity (and they dont seem to like nuclear which is carbon neutral)
they still want to eat tuna sandwiches with their latte's in their inner city apartments.
and , no, tuna does not grow in a can.
they want to bemoan the state of the starving in india but forget that gm , drought resistant maize probably saves millions from starvation.
they want to phone each other on their mobiles to catch up for brunch to discuss gay marriage but they dont want the lithium to be mined in africa which powers their phones.
when sarah hanson young moves into a mud hut, grows her armpit hair 3 inches long and rides a brumby to parliament house , i will take green party seriously.
but you cant be "do as i say, not as i do'
if you want to help save the planet, get behind small business which both here and overseas has much less effect on the environment than big corps.
To be a Greens supporter is not being anti electric, it's to be pro cheap electricity. Renewables are on track to be cheaper than nuclear and coal in a few years.
As a Greens supporter, I don't use caffeine or eat tuna.
GM crops are destroying organics and have had no independent health or environmental scientific research into it's effects. Alongside GM is undermining farming in developing nations, undermining food proofing.
Recycling Lithium is more logical than dumping it into landfill.
And by envisioning Greens as a primitive party, it shows how wrong the right are ... it's about the left revolutionising so Australian living standards don't drop as fast as the pants of a right winger infront of a mining magnate.
The Right is Wrong because their thinking is regressive and small.
