I think labor will go up, its a policy forced on them that the majority want so it is 1 less thing to hate them on.

but it will just be a 1 off rise as when the boats keep coming because they haven't put inplace TPVs they'll fall over again, or the electricity bills all start coming in with teh carbon tax component shown ppl will be up in arms again.

My recent gas bill was lower than the same time last year and my electricity bill is nothing because of solar cells on the roof so whats the big deal about pricing carbon?

Yeah, all those pensioners should buy solar panels.

Oh nice to see you swapping IDs in the thread, matty, it adds a nice touch. Roll Eyes

Good idea about the panels though, if you don't get  them you are one of two things, a dumbass, or a whiny bitch that prefers to whine, I bet I can guess which one you are. Because the cost of the panels are less than a years worth of power bills and loans interest free.

You forgot to mention the massive government subsidies.

Like private health funds you mean? Dr matty.
BTW,matty, so what if they are subsidised, you say pensioners couldn't
afford them, them when it was pointed out what a stupid comment that is you  blame gov subsidies, silly sausage sock.

Yeah, nice attempt at relativism. #Fail

Where did I say pensioners can't afford solar panels?

You insinuated in your best whiny little bitch screech in this post that pensioners couldn't afford them matty. Nice attempt at backing down AFTER you were shown up as a fool though.

Yea like the five point one off last time. Cheesy

Isn't it funny how they went up when Gillard was on holidays? And it's still 54-46, the same as the 1996 election, when the when the Coalition won 94/148 seats.

Dehumanising humans is the aim of the opposition, so to entrench regressive policies onto Australians.

Labor is in government, Liberals are in power.

And Australians are less because of this.

the greens had a chance to do something ..but their obstinacy and stubbornness means they did nothing ..don't cry about it now .. they knew the options if they did nothing , and they did it willingly .... they are just as guilty of any dehumanising and regressive policies as the others

We did, we forwarded lifting the number of refugees from Indonesia and Malaysia during the last debate and the olds voted against this humane outcome.

The olds are out to destroy the UN Refugee Convention and so have millions die across the globe due to them having no protection.

The consequences of the amount of blood on the old's hands will be revealed in time.

Australians are smaller today because we via the olds took the coward's path.

in the end the greens did nothing ... all that hooha and whoop whoop was for naught .... the other parties got exactly what the greens didn't want ...good work greens, you should be proud ... you had a chance to do something and chose to do nothing .. don't take the moral high ground, the greens are just as guilty as everyone .

No I don't think the Greens can be faulted on this one. Given a range of unacceptable options they stood for 'none of the above'. That's fair enough IMO and makes a refreshing change. People vote for a position not permission to rubber stamp anything Labor offers.

disagree  ... in this situation , where you know you are never going to get what you want, the best one can do is try to get the best deal they can ... they could have negotiated a few niceties for the asylum seekers, instead they chose to do nothing and now whinge about the result .... a bit like the 20yr old that refuses to take the job of bank clerk because he think he's good enough to be bank manager... you must work your way up in life and in politics

not even in a parallel universe. Although to be fair in one of these universes there might be a skippy who is a REAL farmer and can actually construct a logical argument online?

I also reckon Abbott will increase his lead as preferred PM over Gillard.

I am disappointed that the Coalition's vote didn't drop at all. Labor gained ground but it was at sthpppthe expense the Greens and others. Labor needs to gain votes from the Coalition.

No. Labor needs to gain the large chunk out there of (so far) uncommitted voters. Some of the Lieberal supporters would get with the program once the ball started rolling.
