If long term drought returns to Australia,.....
Jul 23rd, 2012 at 5:09pm

would we start building solar power en-masse to finally acknowledge climate change?

THE ANSWER IS NO.

We would respond with excuses that the timing is not right and that the technology is too expensive and we should wait for others to help bring down the costs of the technologies first....

IT PAYS TO THINK AHEAD WHEN DEALING WITH FORESEEABLE DISASTER.

BOTTLENECKS WILL OCCUR WHEN WE ALL REALISE WE HAVE TO CHANGE TO RENEWABLE ENERGIES ALL AT ONCE....

IT PAYS TO BE AHEAD OF THE CURVE....

And would we rethink our commitment to importing 200,000 people every year?

Of course not.  That'd be too sensible.

No, the ones that are at their lowest level ever, with only enough water to meet perths needs for 5 days.  It's been a pretty bloody dry winter out west...yet still the people come here to try to cash in on 'the mining boom".

Did the greenies screw WA as well and not allow them to build dams according to population? fn greens.

If you want to see the non-localised picture of a dam in WA within a country of drought and rain, then follow the link

Dorothea MacKellar:

Quote:
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

We have always had droughts here in Australia & we always will.
People have complained about the Wonthaggi Desalination Plant
but you can bet your balls that we'll need it one decade or maybe for
a period as long as 40 years.
