But don't forget, dangerous man-made climate change has been averted. That's the main thing.
Phew!

have we stopped people drink driving? do we call the legislation a failure and remove it thereby allowing people to drink and drive?

Gillard deliberately lied to the Australian people and bought in an unconstitutional tax - I don't think she knows how serious this is. Cool

It's too late to avert global warming. We've just gotta pray that enough other countries start pulling their weight before the runaway feedback effects kick in. To argue that our actions are not part of the problem is an insidious fallacy of composition.

Further, energy saving technologies and renewables are going to be a big part of the future. Get behind on this one and our quarry economy condemns us to irrelevancy once the rest of the world masters a better way of keeping the lights on.

Far from hampering our economy, our early shift to an ETS will ensure higher long term growth.

It has been far hotter with far more co2 in the atmosohere in the past. If there were a runaway affect, we would not be debating here on this forum today.

this 'runaway effect' is the hysterical part of the debate. there is ZERO evidence to indicate that there is anything even remotely like a tipping point or a runaway effect. The earth has many feedback responses thatregulate temperature and environmental conditiona and there is zero evidence of exceeding  that capability.

Not only is the carbon tax a little too late to save that city, it would seem we are in a cooling trend

Climate in northern Europe reconstructed for the past 2,000 years: Cooling trend calculated precisely for the first time

...

This is what global cooling really looks like – new tree ring study shows 2000 years of cooling – previous studies underestimated temperatures of Roman and Medieval Warm Periods

Fan-TAS-tic!

Could you remind me... just how much oil and coal were we burning in Europe 1500 years ago? I know they had that Greek fire stuff.

Must have been burning more than us if you go by the AGW group think logic.
