Anarchists pledge Olympics ‘warfare’

...

An anarchist group says they will stage “warfare” against Britain in the run up to the Olympics through sabotaging the transport infrastructure, financial institutions and even the military.

The Informal Anarchist Federation (FAI) said they will continue their “guerilla attack” on Britain aimed at “disturbing the social peace” as a protest move against the British government.

“In the United Kingdom of clockwork control and domestication, we’re some of the ‘unpatriotic ones’ who find the 2012 Olympics, with the ensuing spectacle of wealth (when so many here struggle to feed themselves and their families), harmful developments and escalating police state, frankly offensive,” the group said on anarchist website 325.nostate.

“But no union or movement calls our shots, and we have no inhibition to use guerrilla activity to hurt the national image and paralyze the economy however we can,” the group added.

The group, which has claimed responsibility for some of the recent damages to the British infrastructure, further said “we don’t want rich tourists - we want civil war.”

The FAI earlier announced they have damaged the railway signal systems that disrupted travel near Bristol earlier this week.

The group said they wanted to target the route used by the Ministry of Defense staff.

The FAI said their “guerilla attack” aims to “spread struggle into different territories and facet of” British life.

“Finance, judicial, communications, military and transport infrastructure will continue to be targets of the new generation of urban low-intensity warfare,” it said.

If they're anything like that moron who disrupted the boat race to protest against "elitism" (who, I read was banned from Britain for the olympics - Yay!) a few months back, I can only hope they disrupt the heavyweight boxing, or maybe even the shooting and the compettitors take out their disgust at having their lifes goals ruined, on them.

Anarchy vs. London Olympics: Radicals prepare war on ‘police state’

Anarchists in Britain “don’t want rich tourists,” they want “civil war.” As the London Olympics draw nearer, those flying the black flag are going for gold in sabotage.

On the eve of the Olympic Games, the Federazione Anarchica Informale (FAI) seems fired up by unprecedented security measures being taken by British police. The British cell of the Italian anarchist group finds the “escalating police state frankly offensive.”

In line with their ideological convictions, the Games set for July are viewed as a rightful cause to act.

“We have no inhibition to use guerrilla activity to hurt the national image and paralyze the economy however we can. Because simply, we don’t want rich tourists – we want civil war,” reads a statement on their website.

The same very statement has been used to justify a rash of recent offences currently being investigated by UK police.

Last Tuesday, railway services were severely disrupted in Bristol, a prominent city in England’s south-west, after cables were set on fire. The perpetuators had to remove protective concrete slabs to access the lines.

It followed an attack on April 11, when several police stations in the same area were forced off the air. A police radio broadcasting mast on Dundry Hill was also damaged.

The FAI statement said it “specifically chose” targets in Bristol as the Ministry of Defense has located several installations nearby. A local business park of “military industry companies” such as Raytheon, Thales and QinetiQ can also be found there.

“If they are serious about trying to disrupt the Olympics by using simple techniques such as these, they are capable of causing utter havoc,” admits a private sector security consultant.

The Olympics security bill tops £1 billion ($ 1.6 billion), with the Royal Air Force in London’s airspace promising to shoot down passenger jets if required. Troops armed with surface-to-air missiles and warships will also be in place to do battle on the Thames. Still, most of this is to prevent Al Qaeda-style terrorist attacks, not “a low-intensity war” as promised by the FAI.

Sabotaging UK transport system during July games, especially at another end of the country, has the potential of severely hampering travel during a critical period. But the FAI could go further than that, as they are also known for sending letter bombs to officials and carrying out drive-by attacks. In a recent instance, two motorcyclists shot a chief executive of a nuclear power company in the kneecaps in the Italian city of Genoa a fortnight ago.

Olympics under threat from anarchists who shot Italian nuclear chief and sabotage cables on UK railway

An anarchist group that claimed responsibility for sabotaging railway signal cables in Britain is threatening to wage a 'low-intensity war' against the London Olympics.

The sabotage, in which protective concrete slabs were lifted and the cables set on fire, severely disrupted rail services in and out of Bristol
last Tuesday.

It followed an attack on April 11 in which the same Italian group is believed to have damaged a police communications and radio broadcasting mast on Dundry Hill, on the outskirts of Bristol, forcing stations off the air.

The Informal Anarchist Federation, known as the FAI after its initials in Italian, was also behind a drive-by gun attack two weeks ago in the port of Genoa.

...

Roberto Adinolfi, the chief executive of a nuclear power firm, was shot in the kneecaps by two men on a motorbike.

British Transport Police yesterday confirmed that at about 4.15am last Tuesday, the signal system was sabotaged at two places on the rail network in Bristol.

Detective Chief Inspector John Pyke said: 'An investigation is under way to establish who is responsible for these attacks.’

He said he was aware the FAI had claimed responsibility and urged anyone who had information to contact police, promising their identities would be protected.

The FAI also made its Olympic threat in a statement on the anarchist website 325.nostate. Police sources said the claim appeared to be credible.

Its statement said: 'In the United Kingdom of clockwork control and domestication, we’re some of the 'unpatriotic ones' who find the 2012 Olympics, with the ensuing spectacle of wealth . . . frankly offensive.

'We have no inhibition to use guerrilla activity to hurt the national image and paralyse the economy however we can. Because simply, we don’t want rich tourists – we want civil war.’

The Olympics security bill is set to top £1 billion, with the RAF controlling London’s airspace, troops armed with surface-to-air missiles, and warships on the Thames.

But most of this is to prevent an Al Qaeda-style terrorist 'spectacular,' not the low-key sabotage of groups such as the FAI.

...
Target: Roberto Adinolfi was shot in the kneecaps

The FAI statement said it 'specifically chose' its Bristol targets to make it difficult for staff from Ministry of Defence installations nearby to get to work, 'as well as military industry companies' such as Raytheon, Thales and QinetiQ on a local business park.

'Such actions are a time-honoured method of disturbing the social peace myth,'the FAI said. 'Finance, judicial, communications, military and transport infrastructure will continue to be targets of the new generation of urban low-intensity warfare.'

Italian investigators have said that the FAI's claim to have shot Mr Adinolfi, made in a letter to a Milan newspaper, was credible.

The group has threatened further attacks against nuclear industry leaders, saying it wishes to prevent a disaster such as last year’s meltdown at the Fukushima plant in Japan from happening in Europe.

In December, the FAI also sent letter bombs to the Italian tax collection agency Equitalia, blowing off an official’s finger, and to an executive at Deutsche Bank in Germany. He was uninjured.

Although a different group, the Earth Liberation Front, claimed it was responsible for last month’s radio mast attack, security experts say both the language and the methods deployed suggest that the two organisations are the same.

'If they are serious about trying to disrupt the Olympics by using simple techniques such as these, they are capable of causing utter havoc,'said a private sector security consultant.

I'm sure we can all agree: these people can't possibly be terrorists.

Terrorists are Muslim, passed down from father to son.

anarchy means an absence of leaders, not an absence of order.

Anarchy, like democracy, is an idea that exists in your head!
