This is getting ridiculous
Apr 25th, 2012 at 9:53am

Now the media is complaining about Slipper filling out a cabcharge voucher for around $75.
Crikey I log up more than that on single cabcharge vouchers just going to various airports.
It looks like the junk media has started anther feeding frenzy.

The overriding view I take when we do internal audits is that fraud is fraud.

Whether it is $10 or $100,000.

Like dumb animals their primal instinct is to circle and attack the wounded. Truth and decency are superfluous to their requirement. Look at James Murdoch's testimony over night, the Government is now looking pretty ordinary and phone hacking might yet be minor.

If there wasn't anything for the media to eat off the slipper carcass, they would move on to another.

Maybe he shouldn't have done what he is alleged to have done.

How is filling out a cabcharge fraud?
If thats the case Ive defrauded my business partners of thousands of dollars worth of cabcharges over just the last 12 mths.
For the media to even suggest that a $75 cabcharge is excessive is ridiculous and is just playing to an ignorant audiences bloodlust.

Yes the audit will be the thing the media calls rubbish and a setup. As will the civil case that will almost certainly be thrown out like a great % of all such cases.

If Slipper was still a good little LNP member none of this would have come to light.
Like putting Pauline Hanson in jail and undermining the economy and the elected govt its all about Abbott spitting the dummy..nothing more nothing less.

As I said in another thread they ALL do it. Every single time theres any kind of scandal the travel expenses are examined and there it is. Its a perk of their positions. If you were to examine any one of them in any party you will find the same things. Its just a witchhunt. Thats all.

I hope thats not the cabcharge in T'ville he signed for when he was in fact in Canberra???

as it is... he had a cabcharge for $160.. no destination was mentioned...

can you imagine what this man is spending now he can still use his full entitlements...

these cabcharges go back to when he was a mere MP..

I am glad you dont think they should answer to a $75 claim they have made...

I am sure you will forgive all those poor people who claim centrelink whilst washing car windscreens and go down and fight for them when they are caught out by the tax office..

yeah I am sure you do!

And it gets people's attention away from the real issues.

As is probably the intent.
