I already answered that Soren in a post to FD. I put it that Israel needs to acknowledge that there is no acceptable defense against those who would use civilians as shields. So talk to them. Engage them in discussion. While they are talking, they are not firing rockets which, after all, is the point isn't it?

Actually, I have seen a a video of a Palestinian man talking to God and firing rockets at the same time. It was rather short. They may be silly, but I doubt that talking to someone who is shooting at you would confuse them long enough to resolve the situation.

Is the use of human shields considered a war crime?
Is firing rockets from civilian apartment buildings a war crime?
Are you saying that Israel should not respoind when the other side does the occasional war crime?

How does becoming a war criminal yourself justify your position? Become a war criminal and you just make the other side's position equal to your own and therefore just as acceptable.

An eye for an eye is a stupid code to follow. By following it you eventually get to the point where nazi extermination camps are quite acceptable and even reasonable. Is that what Israel wants? I'd hope not.
