It is not due until 2013, and it is up to the government of the day to decide, when it will be.   Wink    Smiley

The current government is too disfunctional and incompetent to run a lemonade stand.

They are the government in power, and it is up to them to decide when the election will be.   Wink

Whenever it is, they shouldn't expect to see anything other than Tony Abbott moving into the Lodge following Labor's electoral massacre.

Not necessarily, the election could be a long way off.  Also one never knows, labor could just get in again for another term.  In any case I certainly wouldn't rule it out.   Smiley

It'll give Abbott time to formulate some policies and outline his plan for Australias future

He's outlined many policies - rescind carbon tax, mining tax, pay off ALP debt, reign in Unions, resurrect policy to stop illegal immigrants, etc, etc. Labor has no policies, only unmitigated disasters that cost us billions and get people killed.

He needs to outline step by step how he is going to do these things otherwise its just statements..not policies

an election now would be the single most t=stupid thing that could be done. It would be contrary to democracy and trash the westminster system. The election will be next year.

Desperate for an election as late as possible, aren't ya? Can't stand the thought that Abbott will be next PM and hope people will forget how absolutely useless Gillard and Rudd are between now and next year. Talk about wishful thinking!
