I dont know why everyone has to complicate such a simple thing. There was a poem I read by a soldier...long ago, one line is appropriate I think... "the Southern Cross to show where we're going, and the Union Jack to show where we've been" Rubbish, we should have a map of Africa, instead of the jack, because we were all once Africans. Where only a minority now where once very little british boat/air refugees. That's anthropology And thats where we all have been. That is a colossally specious argument...even coming from you...the King of the Specious Are finally coming clean, your species originated from uranus, not africa? I was referring to humans in Australia. Really...I was referring to British colonisation of Australia... And obliquely to the fact that modern humans have changed since they left Africa....not much it's true, but enough... So the union jack on the flag only represents the british that invaded, and their progeny ... that now are, or soon to be, a minority group within Australia. The main reason why the union jack in no longer required on the Australian flag ... Australia has grown past it. Yes but it's still part of our history....and the indigenous people have been part of the nation for quite some time.. the Union Jack is not part if my history, or many other Australians. It is only part of your history. The compromise, put the union jack flag into museums, that way your past will gather dust yet will not be lost. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3e/Flag_of_New_Zealand.svgOh no??
