I lived with one the only surviving original anti-apartheid dissidents that fled to Australia - the others were assassinated. He lost sight in one eye.
He even taught me that Kevin Rudd would be our next PM and thatr was in 2003 when Rudd was just a backbencher.

I can say this: Those Aboriginals who do hold onto a 'dead' past only bring bitterness and the isolationism of racism to the table.
Just about every race has experienced the same: The Brits had to go through the same passage of rite.
Alas, there will be many Aboriginals that won't "let go" and will be considered a 'traitor' for embracing the future of Australia.

...hell, I can tell you now that the future of Australia will be a tall Ranga male in the name of Art as the POWER of this nation's future and the small watery blonde-white girls as the BREED of this nation's future.
So where does that leave me as a Blue Brunette of something other than power and breed??
Everyone has their role to play in each region of the world.
A black male African may just be a labourer in North America who is more interested in the size of his knob held in his hand 'behind' the black female African who holds more power.While a black male African may be an Academic in Asia and more about 'Power' and successful economy than how good a dildo to women he can be.

Everyone has their role to play. Even Aboriginals here.
I grew up in MT Druitt. The Aboriginals were violent bullies. But luckily I learnt to grow up and see more of the world in perspective and learn that not all Aboriginals are drunks and arseholes. Some are even gay and full of vanity flair. Lol.
