I hate to say it but I do think all this statue and hero worship is an aussie thing..like Big Bananas  only mad dogs and aussies build monuments to fruit..

as for warnies statue well thats not a bad idea, as every picture I see of him now reminds me of a waxwork..he does a great impression of one.

hugh grant? a creep, sure, but a multimillionaire (former) superstar creep who drives middle aged wild. if you reckon just any bloke can get a chance with liz hurley i reckon you've got a bit of a blustering problem.

I used to often see Warnie strolling up the street to a cafe.

The guy had an entourage of about half a dozen who trotted along behind him. Two of them to hand him dialed and answered mobiles and another that lit his smokes and handed them to him.

Walk past the cafe and there's Warnie sitting at a table by himself, his entourage sitting at the two closest tables. It was funny as f-ck.

That was late 1990s.

Isn't that "tangles" Walker

LOL DK Lillee

The rest of anything you posted on this thread is made redundant by your blatant ignorance.

Epic fails.... Cheesy Cheesy

Find a topic you at least know something about hey?

Looks more like Walker than Lillee

Then again they could have been brothers.

LOL

No one cares what you think.

It is the great DK Lillee. As any cricket follower can tell by the classic action shot of the man in his delivery stride.

No one cares what you think. Cheesy

One of the very few people who we wish was English.

An absolutely awesome player who I always hated when he played us.
He just seemed to destroy our top and middle order every time.

I always felt like whenever he was bowling we were liable to lose a wicket.

I was fortunate enough to bump into him in All Bar One in Covent Garden one night when he was there with another mate. He bought the three of us drinks, chatted a bit with us and was a bloody good bloke.

I told him should he stop playing he was always welcome to remain in England!!

Little did I realize he would later hook up with Hugh Grant's ex-missus!

Well done Mr Warne, well deserved statue, well deserved status of cricket legend.
Had it not been for the existence of Sachin Tendulkar, I would say the best player I have ever seen.
Most definitely second.
