Muslims consider the death penalty for apostasy in Islam is justified because the USA and the west has the death penalty for treason.

Quote:Apostasy is considered a crime in Islam....I can help but draw an analogy here however. In America treason is punishable by death, which i believe is defined as a violation of the allegiance owed by somebody to his or her own country,eg by aiding an enemy.this would not be unlike a religion taking the same stance if you would insert (name of religion) in the place of America and redefine treason as apostasy

http://www.atheistforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=648642#p648642What other religions redefine apostasy to treason to justify the death penalty for apostasy?
How many people have been executed for treason in the USA in the last 100 years cite names?
What about Jane Fonda they called her Hanoi Jane for helping the enemy in Vietnam why didnt they execute her for treason?
What about David Hicks and John Walter lindh why are they still alive if the west executes people for treason?
It appears muslims are trying to justify murdering apostates because once upon a time the west executed people for treason, at least santex17 saw the light i wonder if Lestat or Abu will.
Islam and the Mafia are the only 2 cults i know of that have the death penalty for those who want to leave.
We can ask a online Imam about the death penalty for apostasy in Islam here-
http://www.islamqa.com/en/ref/14231/apostasyMuslims think leaving Islam is an act of treason and the death penalty for apostasy is justified.
