But Amy Pond got married to hubby pond in the last episode... part 2 of the 'Pandorica' episode... so why should she care if he's gay?  Cool

Not as good as I was hoping it would be... maybe after another viewing or two I'll think differently about it?
Amy is still giving me the irrates, River is still my idol and I'm still half/half in my feeling towards Matt Smith's take on the Doctor.

Looking forward to the story's conclusion next week.  Can I point out that the Doctor can't possibly die as Matt Smith considering River has already met him in the future and he's a completely different regeneration??  Roll Eyes

Oh yeah, and HI FAERY!  No ducks tonight, but I'm sure some will pop up somewher e Wink

I think River is The Doctor or at least a time lord of gallifray. She knows The Doctor's real name and has mastery over the Tardis. And did you notice that she and he have the same tardis book from which they compare notes of events happened or yet to happen? She also had an upgraded sonic screwdriver which she says the Doctor gave her.

Any one else have any theories.

What ever the case... we'll find out in this series.

What if the TARDIS is made out of Timelords?  Hmmmm..?
Perhaps when they reach their final regeneration they transform into a TARDIS so they can continue to travel through space and time... That's why there were so many TARDIS' (or is that TARDII?)?

So, is River the TARDIS or is the DOCTOR the TARDIS??   Shocked
And was his regeneration as the TARDIS the first time she met him, therefore she knows how to "press all his buttons"...

But we already know that it's not made from timelords... Also, TARDIS is an acronym so can't be TARDII.

And that's all I have to say on the matter for now... my nerdiness is making me sick.

This looks a good place to brag about my modest brush with Dr Who fame. I had a friend whose dad used to build Daleks! He worked in the props department at the BBC. Smiley

What is it with all this Amy Amy Amy stuff? The girl in Dr Who was always the trusty sidekick who screamed for the doctor to save her.
I believe the producers are preparing the audience for a female doctor some time down the track, and Amy seems to be playing a role in that.
Lets face it, the doctor is the last of his species and needs to spawn ASAP. I think he and Amy have done some horizontal folk dancing. I'd like to see a birthing scene like in 'Alien' where the critter bursts out of the guys stomach.

I'm trying to get be nice about DW & accept it for the silly piece of fun it's supposed to be. However, Ms Pond. I found it most offensive on the pirate show that they had her resorting to pantomime antics in the "storm" scene - no, no, no; I don't mean her alleged escapade with those  footballers. Rather, her hauling desperately on a line to raise a sail. But really, we saw a provocative cheap porn innuendo of the gal sliding her tightly gripped hands [ooer!] rapidly up & down [mmm...] an unbending, unmoving, firmly attached [oh baby!] piece of rope.

Jolly Roger indeed!

I think Moffat is the man who killed Dr. Who. I want more of a story than a string of joined up sound/vision bites.

Couldn't agree more.  That bloody crappy intro they've brought in this year truly gives me the runs, and I can't stand the character of Amy. I'm sure they're trying to play her up as someone very important, but I really couldn't care less.  Love Rory though, and River is the best!  Still haven't warmed up to Matt Smith, but I'll give him a bit more of a chance.

I worked with a hot raven-haired, pale skinned Nurse called Gillian. Reckon she would make a superb Dr Who. The series has become so stale and dependent upon modern Special Effects - which is a laugh because BBC special effects have always been B-grade to C grade. I don't think Dr Who will gain popularity, sincere popularity like it did when it began, until the last Dr incarnation and lets face it ...the last episode will be against the Daleks.

I agree, 'The Dr's wife' was the best episode for a long time and goes a long way to renewing my faith. Really hit the emotion buttons.

River is a time lord/lady! I knew it. But I didn't know that she was Amy's daughter.

What I don't understand is why the doctor died at the beginning of the series and the reason for that was never resolved... or was it?

We'd all been speculating that River would be Amy's daughter on the ABC website - so I wasn't really surprised by that at all.  I wonder if there is more to her relationship with the Doctor than just being Amy's daughter.  I am kind of deflated now I know the River Song/Melody Pond mystery...  Undecided

I've only watched it once, but I'm fairly sure they haven't resolved the Doctor's death yet.  Presumably that will be what the 2nd half of the season is about?

And that season won't start until latter this year.  Cry

Still abc iview is showing a previous series of Dr Who with the actor Christopher Eccleston... so my addiction will be somewhat satisfied.
