I'll believe the report when it becomes available by someone other than the herald sun.....trash paper. The ACA and TT of newspapers.
Only credible sources will be treated as credible.
THE Childcare Minister, Kate Ellis, has dismissed as
''ridiculous''
fears that under proposed national regulations childcare workers could be fined for sending children to the ''naughty corner'' or for celebrating Christmas and Easter.
Ms Ellis was
responding to a newspaper report
suggesting childcare centres could be fined up to $50,000 and supervisors $10,000 for sending disobedient children to ''time out'' or requiring children to take part in such activities as Easter egg hunts.
''Common sense will prevail here - Easter egg hunts will go right ahead, as they always do,'' she said.
''The regulations do not ban any cultural activities,''
she said. ''As is already the case in government schools, they are simply focused on making sure that children are not made to feel uncomfortable because they are forced to participate in cultural traditions that are not their own.
''Similarly, the suggestion that any childcare worker would be fined $50,000 for sending a child to the naughty corner is ridiculous and plain wrong.
